I'd forgotten what a cool looking toy the Snowspeeder was until I watched this, and those custom stickers (always love the sticker-adding section in your vids) are quality! I had a 2nd-hand Snowspeeder as a kid, given to me by my cousin. It was in pretty bad shape, so seeing this in all it's more movie accurate glory is a sweet sight!

From start to finish this had been a joy to watch. Thank you for showing how you work, and the remarkable results you get.

Really excellent work. You'd never guess it was a vintage snowspeeder, looking at the final product.

Hi Dave, I'm a little late to the party, having just downloaded the PDF of your replacement stickers and wanted to say a huge THANK YOU for making them available on your website. Your more movie accurate versions look so much better than the originals and I absolutely love it!

Thanks! Glad you like them. I need to make one of these for myself again.

That's amazing! Received my snowspeeder in the post a few days back, waiting in the rest of the parts to come now! Wish you had redrawn the original stickers though, can't find decent quality ones anywhere. Awesome job though! Inspired me to start restoring vintage vehicles!
@toypolloi8 жыл бұрын
+Alex Thompson go to erikstormtroopers website and print your own.
@alexthompson79128 жыл бұрын
yeah i did but they're not great quality and as soon as i spray them with a clear lacquer the grey turns green
@toypolloi8 жыл бұрын
+Alex Thompson No idea. Try a different lacquer, or printer. Or just print onto gloss sticky backed printer paper and don't lacquer.

I want your opinion, I have this ship in pretty good shape with all it's original stickers and I only have one ship, so I don't know if I should leave it totally vintage or try to used the custom stickers you did?... because they look great.

incredible work with the stickers, I am bummed you didn't do a final "weapons test" at the end to show the lights/sounds working on the finished product.
@toypolloi8 жыл бұрын
I just forgot on this one. This was filmed over a few weeks, and it's easy to forget what I have filmed.

Toy Polloi no problem, still a killer restoration of course. I just love seeing those 30-40 electronics popping like they were brand new
@toypolloi8 жыл бұрын
That's why I like this era of toys. You can pretty much always get the working again. Nothing is that complicated.
@ia56628 жыл бұрын
Toy Polloi it's very cool to see it resurrected. You really managed to keep it looking vintage while making it more accurate. Incredible job

Thanks. This was the first one I tried to do the more screen accurate stickers on. Check out my X-wing videos as I did the same on them.

also, what feedback did they give you? from the comments here everyone overwhelmingly thinks it's fantastic, i hope they did too.
@toypolloi9 жыл бұрын
+titmusspaultpaul5 Yeah, they loved it. Not sure what they did with it in the end. There was talk of it being given away as a prize. But I don't think that has happened yet.

Hi There, Awesome I am going to update the standard stickers I have to these - they look amazing. One question though. With the custom labels, what kind of paper do you recommend printing them on? And would you recommend color laser or inkjet?
@toypolloi8 жыл бұрын
Glossy sticky backed printer paper. I use inkjet as that is all I have.
@teppest119 жыл бұрын
Very nice multiple thumbs up for that
@reddave86288 жыл бұрын
Cracking resto. Wish I could buy the stickers on sheets as not got the use of a PC and printer 😕

I notice the clear plastic part of the cannon you replaced on the previous video has the frosted square sections down the length of it. Did you do that or are you just using original cannons for this video?
@toypolloi9 жыл бұрын
I found a replacement in the end. Just forgot to say. I am using the one I made on another ship.
@standepain9 жыл бұрын
lol You do such a darn good job restoring it wouldn't have shocked me if you replicated it to match.

Hi, I really enjoyed your video. I'm a model builder however, you've taken me back to the day when mum and dad couldn't afford BIG toys like Snowspeeders which we loved as kids instead my dad showed us how to make one out of a cereal box which was great as we ended up making them ourselves and ended up with a fleet. ( we were the envy of the street) good times. Your video has inspired me to buy a 1980 snowspeeder which I'm looking forward to restoring however, could it be possible for you to send me the decals which were used.....?
@toypolloi7 жыл бұрын
Hi, that's great. You can get the PDF for the decals from toypolloi.com and print them yourself. Cheers

Great video. What size battery does the Snowspeeder take?
@toypolloi9 жыл бұрын
+Mark Roberts Size C.
@WishItWas19848 жыл бұрын
+Toy Polloi Have you ever found that modern C batteries are too big for it? Specifically, one of the slots on mine you have to force in a C battery and it's HELL to get it back out. To the point that I never want to put batteries in it every again. Makes me wonder if modern Cs have grown a smidge...or maybe there are smaller out there somewhere.

I know this is old, and you did comment on the type of media your used for printing the decals But could you perhaps provide a link to what you used from eBay I can't find "sticky backed clear vinyl, and sticky backed gloss stickers"

Using both those search terms hundreds of results come up on ebay. Cheers
