Best video I've seen on Latency, interrupt affinities. Interrupt affinity tool for hardware devices, process lasso for software. Process lasso will massively reduce latency. I was trying to work out where you are from. As soon as you said "Lasso", I immediately knew you are Italian. "Goal Lasso", or process. Magical. Thank you so much!

I also am not a serial commenter on YT, I could count them all on two hands. But I am here right now to tell Neo thank you. I was ready to do my annual Windows 10 clean install when I came across this tutorial. After the install, and some of the tweaks mentioned here, I am pleased to report that my PC has since, for the first time, been 100% free of audio glitches, video stuttering and it just feels so smooth and unrestricted. I am still running an AMD FX8350 circa 2012 and it needs all the help it can get. I stopped after the power plan mods, so there's probably more benefits to be had from this very well presented and thought out tutorial. Great job.

42:21 for those wondering what "weird" mouse glitches could possibly mean: For me I set my mouse to single digit (7 decimal) and everything went fine BUT if I plucked in (or out) any USB device (not the mouse itself), my left and right click won't work anymore even though my cursor still moved fine. Fixed by restarting and it only did it in this specific circumstance. Just to give an example what "weird" means.

Interesting food for thought here. I've been tweaking DPC/ISR for years, and I never found the Interrupt Policy Tool ever resulted in better performance despite LatencyMon measurements suggesting it would. But this video does make me want to investigate it again. I'm already achieving excellent DPC/ISR measurements, but any type of improvement is interesting to me still.

important to note. on NON-K intel cpus: if you disable c-states you lose your single core turbo boost and it will only achieve the all-core turbo as maximum. example, i7-12700: will only boost to 4500 instead of single core maximum boost of 4900 ... that is a BIG difference if you need single core boost (for example in games with single render thread, which are most games)

When comes to pc stuff I'm very enthusiast I used to do a bunch of tweaks back in 2014, but everything started with a nice topic from steam forums in 2009 with (Cs isn't smooth) Counter Strike isn't smooth then since that day I started to notice this thing called visual lag, like the game is not smooth even at 200fps, so yeah this bring me nostalgia this type of videos, those tweaks may be like "placebo" but they aren't they actually helps when comes to press a key and less input, best reaction time, better audio, less ghosting etc, etc. But now I would also recommend you to pay attention to the electricity in your house, like check for dirty electricity, the EMI/RFI, grab a oscilloscope check the bar of the frequency if its stable or if its has a big wave, if its has a wave means there is to much dirty in the line, so you can always but power conditioner, check your circuit breaks etc, etc. So once the circuit breaker, all outlets are clean from electricity, next steep is to go wired instead of Wifi, as the wifi EMI from router affect not only your health but the computer part. same situation with RFI from big antennas, there is a lot of info there about how to buy this type of sprays or materials that you put on walls or windows to reduce/cease the contamination by electromagnetic stuff, so this will at the end give you a sleep quality, improve huge your gameplay Hope this helps, i used to do a lot of tweaks. thanks for refreshing me with this video. PS: I do apologies for my English, cheers.

Be careful if you use Docker, you'll ruin it and it's hard to figure out, as the device "Microsoft Virtual Drive Enumerator" is also used for WSL virtual machines, not just mounting ISO files. I wasted 2 hours figuring this out, and I had just recently did some of the tweaks (so my memory is fresh), I'm sure someone wouldn't think this could cause such an issue if he forgot that he did these tweaks.

Many things in this video like Interrupt Affinities and services without knowing what youre doing, i would not recommend touching them, thats why you can see many people saying stuff like "windows destoryed, etc" And absolutlty dont do keyboard queue its just gona mess up ypure lateny and gona skip nouse inputs... Default ehat its set is best, ,so called "overclocking mouse and k3yboard" dosent exist this queue regedit is useless and always messes things up, And do not set ein32 priority! Leave it dwfault, default is usually for programs and games, its the best value if you set something like 16 in this video youre just gona experience stutters...

I've found the same. I've been tweaking DPC/ISR for years now, and I never found that this did anything but make things worse during actual performance. Older systems are much easier to wrangle in, though, versus new ones. This video has made me want to take a stab at using the Interrupt Affinity tool - I've got nothing to lose, but I'm already at a point where my systems achieve max 100us. Older ones even less.

0:32 point of Dynamic tick, "to reverse", thats wrong the right one is "bcdedit /deletevalue disabledynamictick" HPET isn't the Timer in standard for Windows, that shows only that "useplatformclock" isn't set by standard you can check if you get "bcdedit /enum" in CMD it is okay that the device in device manaer is installed and not deactivated, because program can use it if they want, but it should not set as standard timer for Windows If bad standardrivers or whatever you have hpet as standardtimer for windows then is it right to set "bcdedit useplatformclock no" but if you get to the bootsettings "disabledynamitick yes" it is another option than of "useplatformclock yes/no" 4:05 "high precision event timer" it's not a good way to disable it, problems wasn't ther but it's over, if you have realtime intensive programs its in most way better they can use it, if it wants to use it, they don't want it without reason if you had Realtime problems you can use "timerbench" and check if it is really the problem 27:48 no, max fps to 3 frames under your hz from the monitor and instead of ultra to on... (you don't need vsync against tearing) power management to "normale" about RTX 3000, RTX 2000 and before to adaptive... 28:53 explorer.exe isn't 3dmode, its not opengl and no DirectX API, it's GDI... xD 31:03 some very old games have problems with that, all other is placebo-effect 34:12 thats not drivers, that the bios himselve... i'm not wondered if you don't understand the function of CPU and GPU, with wrong settings you show to optimize, you don't know too which way the complete PC get in function with the bios *facepalm* xD

I just installed the NVIDIA 536.67 driver and so far no dpc latency with crackling, and popping, after 2 hours. Hmmm, Fingers crossed. After a year nothing has helped. THIS seems to have helped. Thanks for your help and these tweaks.

nice video at all, i only disagree with disabling devices in device manager, mainly hpet, maybe that can boost fps, but for me, brings inconsistency. anyway, what are your pc specs? please put that on description, i think that for all people who make tweaks, is a important stat. sorry for my bad english kkkk i'm brazilian. god bless you man 🙏

Have a watch of Fr33thys guide. There are a few things in here that can be done quicker or dont actually matter if you test with 1% and 0.1% lows With Fr33thys Turbo guide my latency on a 7800XX3d are around: Highest measured interrupt to process latency (µs): 47.80 Average measured interrupt to process latency (µs): 1.996111 Highest measured interrupt to DPC latency (µs): 26.90 Average measured interrupt to DPC latency (µs): 0.493025 (This is processor dependent also. Hello dude please help me, i am having problem with the dpc latnecy my system is windows 10, ryzen 7 2700x on RX 6600 the motherboard is gigabyte b450 aorus pro wifi and 32gb 2666mhz ram i have done all the settings even updating the drivers and everything when i open the latncymon app with some programs opened in the background latncymon version 7.20 exe showing me all the of the three options are very very low lancy, my problem is with fourth option which is the dpc latency (highest reported dpc routine execution time), it gose up something like (ps): is 2933 is this normal? this is only while if i am opening and streaming with ops while connceting the elgato HD60X sending the audio and video signal through the hdmi and recording my ipad pro on my PC i have been also switched to windows 11 but nothing changed is this becuse I am runing obs and recording? in the same time checing on latncymon however I have checked latncymon without running any other apps and I have closed the obs and the streaming and I just kept chrome browser open on youtube playing a video with sound and the problem have disappeared and never come back so is it realy normal for the problem to show up on latncymon more likely if i opend and streamd with obs or any other streaming platorm? or its my system problem and if it is will buying a sound card fix the problem if you please can help I have been tring to fix this damn problem since last 2 month ago i can send you a picture of my latncymon app results if you want to on instgram or discord

agree except the part of hyperthreading or AMD SMT. Those extra threads are ALWAYS needed. Nowadays in the days of upscalers and especially frame generation this is key having on. Would be also curious to know your thoughts on SysMain service.

In my opinion its better option it makes it much easy for Windows Settings Power Plan part ( The Process Lasso ) you are add additional software but the benefit is when you need high performance you automatically have it and when you need hight economy also have it in addition you can customize the power plans shockingly deep :) .

the registry backup script is not really doing anything since all the settings remain the same. Wasnt a problem, just pointing out. lol I suggest exporting the whole local machine folder just in case.

Not here to argue anything, just seeking clarification: Always keep auto c-states on for intel 12th gen right? It's your turbo boost, and dynamic adjustments? Power saving options in their default places are good and welcome for normal non-benchmark record seeking behavior right? --I ask because it seems like a giant waste to use maximum performance profiles, keeping clocks maxed entire run time, and no rest for voltages and reduction for basic use like casual games, browsing net, movies, discord etc.. -----power saving shouldn't effect gaming performance at all really, no? It may increase delay in "waking up" and loading a game and connecting but once game is launched, computer isn't slowing down or going into sleep or lowering clocks if it is still using a 3d app? A lot of this feels like it isn't coming from a realistic place, but for maximizing extreme overclocks or trying to break a system bench record heh. Some good tips for sure, but so much waste, added cost, over voltage, excess heat, for essentially no return other than a split second to get an app launched? If wrong I'm open to information, and I'll take what's useful, but I don't think all of this is a good idea. Thanks for the information and opinion on setup, maybe I'm not the market here

If you have an Intel CPU disable SpeedStep in the BIOS and it wont downclock which reduces latency.
