AMD CPUs with 3D cache ftw 50 plus FPS 1080p PUBG from my 3950x using my old 980 TI underrated cards still great for 1080p with any 3D cash chip. Too many people think the GPU is how you get your FES with not looking at how the usage is, even we're working at the time. They're just like oh my PC sucks. I wish I had a 490 and they have some old ass CPU from 10 years ago😂 because like this for games that run like s*** like PUBG get the fastest CPU you could get but don't exceed eight course. Yes all the streamers get paid to use Intel on the esports people use until and then they have to use Intel and then all the kids think Intel is the best for gaming😂 Yes, the 3D crash isn't used in all games, but if you play PUBG this is the CPU you need to make the game run almost perfect😂 did I lose in code time leaving my 16 core? Yeah, but every reviewer seems to sometimes hate on AMG's eight course saying oh the render times the render times when usually it's only 10 seconds longer to a minute tops. If you can't wait an extra minute or so, you got more problems than you think. Rant over peace, peace, happy game at all ❤

Using a 4070 and an i7-9700k. Enabling this made a huge difference to my system, particularly to 1% lows. My low end frame rate in cyberpunk went from 56 to 64. edit Jan 2024: TLDR the difference was likely not due to turning on MSI but Win 11 upgrade. I have a 7800X3D now. After further testing I don't think MSI was what caused this difference, I think it was upgrading to Win 11. I had done about 100 tests under Win10 testing different system variable changes doing at least 5 runs for each setting. The Cyberpunk benches were always very consistent so I never bothered running a baseline test before enabling MSI even though I had upgraded to Win11 in the meantime. After reinstalling drivers and MSI turning off I re-ran the bench several times and then re-enabled MSI. The results were almost identical. Based on this it looks like the improvement was due to Win11. A few driver revisions later started automatically enabling MSI so the point became moot. I realise the rig I had then seems unbalanced but the CPU was really only an issue in Dogtown for cyberpunk or cities for Starfield. I have a 7800X3D now so no framerate drops in cities.

@@aymanoov1 Not sure since I never experienced it. However you can try downloading 'MSI mode utility' version 2 or 3 and then activating/checking MSI there. Just be sure not to change the 'limit' value. Some people may be confused and think the limit should be set to the max limit or lower but this is not the case. If you screw it up though in most cases a corresponding driver reinstall should solve it. Be extra careful messing with your OS drive's settings though.

Might skip on that one, as it is made clear that there's a chance the affected device may stop working until MSI is disabled if it turns out to not be compatible - but if you have no onboard graphics you won't be able to turn your PC on to disable MSI back, bricking your windows... Edit: I enabled it anyways without having an iGPU and it still booted, YOLO lol

it doesn't change any firmware on the gpu/bios or otherwise, its a setting within windows, so for example if you set a negative IRQ with your Sata Controller, and find that you cannot boot, you simply just need to do a fresh install (format drive, clean install) i first used this tool years ago and found out which devices can/cant be changed, gpu is pretty much the only one thats benificial and most new modern drivers for devices should be set in negative irq modes too

I stumbled across this video and checked for MSI for my GPU, which was on. However, I noticed my audio drivers had MSI disabled. For around two years now, I've dealt with periodic audio latency, popping and dropouts. Sometimes bad enough to ruin the gaming experience, prevent me from watching videos on KZbin and even playing songs downloaded on my storage drives. I've tried to fix it many times, and had some degree of success (haven't had the video/song issues for a while). I have upgraded nearly every component in my rig since these issues began, with only my C and D drives remaining. I did some quick reading before enabling MSI, and it appeared it would help.. So far, it has completely fixed the issue! I want to say thank you for introducing me to the MSI utility because that indirectly helped me rid of my plague for years!

Reading through the comments it looks like the RX6xxx cards already have this setting on at default. I wonder if that's down to AMD cards having less CPU dependency than nVidia, where it seems to make more sense for nVidia to have this setting off so the GPU could lean more heavily on CPU compute cycles to boost the GPU. Not sure if anyone has done that test though.

In some cases yes in some not , maybe it depends on Brand. I use allways manual Tuning , running the RX6900XT a litle above Factory Setting and i can Play ALL Games in Native 2k very well. I dont Play 4k ,because most Games just do it by upskaling and this cost a ton of power for the GPU. And running constand at 100% isnt good for any GPU!

That’s KZbin’s fault. The longer the video, the longer retention, the more KZbin’s algorithm will suggest and promote your content. That’s why a lot of craters with a shorter video will leave a few minutes of random gameplay at the end. Generally you want to get around 10 min+

MSI mode is a new version of IRQ addressing, not all boards properly support this mode for certain devices and can in fact cause your system to not post requiring you to reset the bios and to use restore point to undo the setting.

In Starfield at least, I ended up getting worse performance. Indoor areas were perfect for me in Starfield, but there was noticeable stutter after I turned MSI on. I’m using an overclocked 2080ti if that makes any difference. It could be that only 30 and 40 series cards get a boost from this.

Confirmed. Was off by default for RTX 4060. Legit gave an increase of around 10-20% fps in 1440p gaming (at least between Armored Core 6, Remnant 2, and Forza Horizon 5)! So… any downsides to leaving this turned ON?

No real downside as MSI is a standard since PCIE 2.0, using a bit of data to signal a needed interrupt, instead of the default shared interrupts for everything in the system, which can cause exhaustion and thus higher latency.

Sadly, I must report that changing this setting has made no statistically significant difference to game framerates on my system. I can only conclude that my GT710, stuffed to the brim with 2GB of DDR5, is so powerful that it has no need of such footling tweakery. I'll leave it switched on though, just in case... 😀

Using an Intel Arc A770LE (16gb). The setting was enabled by already and set to undefined, but I've been experiencing random input lag/latency issues with The Finals so I'm going to set it to high and see if that helps at all. Edit: It seems to have helped, but I'll update this if I notice input lag again (assuming I remember to).

@@SDWCh I switched over to a used RTX 3070 TI after being frustrated with the Arc A770 LE, and while my frame rates and stability in the finals improved-mostly due to better driver support than hardware I'd assume as the a770 has good hardware specs-I was still noticing these weird burst of input lag primarily in The Finals, but it was effecting other games as well such as Rocket League (which I recently got back into thus I may have not noticed at the time that it wasn't just The Finals). I was worried I had a faulty component somewhere else in my PC build as changing GPU hadn't done much for me and I found the "This ONE setting could FIX YOUR FPS Stuttering & Make Games WAY SMOOTHER! *BIG UPDATE* ✅" video uploaded by the same channel had fixed this for me (or at least I haven't noticed the input lag I was experiencing again yet). Of all the things that could be causing the issue I was really not expecting it to be a Windows Gamebar issue, I was so worried I'd have to buy new hardware or just start a completely new build if I wanted to get rid of whatever was causing the issue.

By the way, I am also not happy with the idea that I will have to continue to radically change my computer hardware so that this game finally starts to run adequately, which is why this 4060 Ti 16 GB was purchased... And so far, after 3060, I have not felt any increase in performance / stability / responsiveness of the game, alas...

You don't need to download the tool to check for MSI mode, the article shows you how to check for it through device manager. This also shouldn't be your first step to optimizing your setup and should just be a fix for stability issues. Its a good setting to try if you are having frame time issues and inconsistent fps.

@@aatoks7738 Im not super familiar with nvidia or intel, I mostly run amd, but In general I can recommend with that setup it's usually stable enough to run most things stock and then trying to see if you have issues like stuttering or frame time. The less you tweek the more consistent your games will feel. Otherwise its basic things like running reflex for competitive games and then dlss for others.

just did this now my games stay at window borderless and wont fullscreen every time i switch it to fullscreen it just goes back to window borderless edit:just figured it out i overclocked my monitor hz from 60 to 75 that was the issue for anyone having the same problem

System: i9-13900KS + RTX 4090. The default was MSI OFF. Games: MIUS Front and City Skylines Scenarios: CPU limited in the area of 30-45 FPS. Results: In testing appeared to drop a few frames resulting in about a 2-4% performance hit. I was not having any other issues of lag, stutter, or latency before or after testing. I result this back my default; MSI OFF. Note: at 1080p with a 60Hz capable 32" TV, I am don't have any title that are GPU limited. This was exactly why I got the 4090 to begin with; gaming with all settings MAXed out and no need to avoid large scale scenarios/maps. --- IN ANYCASE, THANK YOU FOR YOUR EFFORTS!!! (it is always worth it seeing if you can get FPS for free with no quality loss)
