Tony Allen is the chairman of the Wilmington Education Improvement Commission, a Commission created by the Delaware General Assembly to strengthen public education for low-income black and brown students throughout the state. Previously, Tony was the founding president of the Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League, worked for several years with current Vice President of the United States Joseph R.Biden, serving as a speechwriter and special assistant and started his career as co-founder of Public Allies Delaware, a leadership organization for young adults interested in full-time, public service careers. His work has touched thousands of Delawareans.

He raised a few problems but did he find a solution? You can say we need to stand together, but what exactly is the plan of action? Seems like he is just saying we have tried in the past but we haven't tried hard enough. That still leaves open the question of what kind of action should be taken.

Poverty is a necessity to a society that thrives off of consumerism, the value of what you posses goes up when you compare yourself with those that have not.

Lemme guess: Nine minutes of "nothing is my fault or my responsibility" and the "fix" is "gimme gimme gimme". I've been watching this play out, over and over again, for close to 70 years. And "it," no matter what actions are taken, is ever enough, is it? No thanks. I'll pass....
