The Sony PS5 launched alongside the new Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S a few weeks ago. While it has been nearly impossible to get one with scalpers buying up every console available, many of us have been lucky enough to get our hands on a shiny new PS5 and Xbox Series console. The PS5 has cutting edge technology with an incredible AMD SoC based on Zen 2 and RDNA2 that offers stellar gaming performance with ray tracing, the option for 4K 120Hz and even 8K. But not everything is perfect with the PS5. The glossy plastic is horrid looking, the console can capture 4K gameplay but doesn't do so by default, the 667GB of user storage will run out soon, and more. Let's fix those issues in this PS5 troubleshooting video!

EDIT: Want to address a remark I think many missed... you needn’t disassemble the console to perform this modification. Doing it with just the side panels off works very well. Take care of the area with the buttons and you’ll be fine. I see that all the ps5 problems are more common on the disc version . Glad I got the digital. Had mines for months and haven't had any issues or problems. I'm so happy with my console.i will never be taking mines apart ever nor will I be trying to fix it myself if I do have any issues or problems in the future. I will be sending mine back to Sony to get replaced if anything happens. I don't see the point in fixing a broken console.just send it back and get a new one

I use a 500gb Samsung T5 on my Xbox One X and it’s the single best “upgrade” or accessory to buy for it. Games like Forza Horizon 4 or GTAV are so much faster than before it feels like a totally different generation / console. Forza loads in about 1/2 the time and the menus and selections are significantly more responsive. An external SSD (especially a high end Samsung model) will always be a console recommendation for me.

It's NOT easy to pull the PS5 apart like that. Noobs are going to damage stuff and misplace screws. Why wouldn't you just buy a Dbrand strip or something and do a simple overlay without ripping the console apart? The black plastic on the PS5 reminds me a lot of the finish on the Wii U. That console could also be scratched by a fingernail, annoyingly, but given the lighting in my room it's very hard to see the scratches and I barely touch much of either console so I'm not too concerned over it. Wish they had gone with a different, more durable finish though.

Yeah I agree. There's nothing worse than having to remove and especially replace 50 tiny screws and all those tiny, fragile parts, while remembering exactly where everything goes. On the video I just been watching he recommends putting the palm of the hand at the bottom of the console, and lifting the corner under the insignia, it stops the faceplate coming of too quickley , which could scratch it.

I have no issue with the design of the console, just wipe the shiny black area with a soft cloth ( like the one you would use for your glasses) to remove dust etc.

This is a very difficult and complex diassembly. Very easy to mess up. You can mix up a screw or damage a connection. Edit: At 12:56 he removed the heat-plate. DO NOT DO THIS! You will damage the heat transfer pads on memory chips. Gamer Nexus showed that this leads to memory overheating in PS5. It's not worth it!
