it might be that your sd card has too much memory. for some versions, the sd card can't be over 2GB in size

It's really weird that I just plugged in to recharge my Nintendo DS, and took the R4 card out and put it back in, the loading screen is restored! Now everything is fine and normal. The problem just fixed itself!

Guys I just fixed it! Remove the micro SD, blow on the place where it goes, then put it back in, make sure it goes all the way! No need to download or format anything

A lot of these errors are caused by the type of SD card you use. For example, if you are using an 8GB card it is most likely to be an SDMC which the NDS Lite card DOES NOT support. Mainly the only SDs these cards support are MSDs which are 2/1 GB Micro SD cards. Hope this Helps!!!

So ive just spent 2 days on one of these. Worked fine in DSi XL. Would not work in the DSI. So i pulled the DSi apart and found one of the middle cart reader pins was bent. Managed to bend it back enough for it to work. 2 completely different R4s both work fine now on the DSi. They would both lock up on the loading screen every time no matter what kernel or firmware. So be aware this can be a physical hardware issue also with the cart reader in the DS. Just though I would add this because I almost threw it out the window a few times trying to work this out. Nothing was wrong with either card.

heyy lemme help you out. make sure that : 1. you donwload the correct kernel for your r4 cart 2. once you download it, extract to another folder in your desktop. i named mine dsi 3. copy the contents of the folder (and not the folder, you have to open it and copy the content, it should be a .DAT and a rpg file). you paste it in the SD card you will use for your r4 cart 4. insert your sd card to your r4 cart then its done OH! make sure that its is an SD card not and SD HC card. i tried it on the SD HC card, it wouldnt work i had a loading problem when i may have deleted a file in my sd card while dloading roms, its working now :)

This really doesn't help my situation. I have an R4 Revolution Upgrade model, and the latest software from the manufacture site doesn't allow any roms made after 2008 to run. I need software more up to date.

The problem is usually that you have a 32GB micro SD, i had a 2GB micro sd and it worked fine, just in case i grabbed a 32GB micro sd and swapped all files... back go the 2GB card andddd yeah it worked again.

Action Replay also has freezing errors. Right now, I'm dealing with a red screen on my Action Replay DSi. I think Gameshark (Nintendo 64 and Game Boy versions) also have freezing errors, like being bricked (this "bricked" thing can happen on lots of cheating and hacking stuff.), Game Genie don't have these errors because Game Genie (GG for short) doesn't save the codes you put in.

Here are the advices to solve this loading screen problem without visiting any website: 1. Move out all of the data which is inside your micro sd card into a file 2. While there are nothing inside the micro sd card, still formatting it (just as what the video shows) 3. After finish formatting, copy those data back to the formatted sd card. And, it's done! ;)

Mine was working last night, and now it ain't. Then again, I did touch one of the settings on the card that said scan CDS or something or other. I don't remember what it was now, and it had 3 numbers after it. 232 or something I THINK??? it worked fine before i turned it off, and using a DS with the time set to 01/01/2000 didn't help so it's not a time bomb issue.

Okay so the exact same thing happened to me with the loading screen as soon as I was going to play harvest moon on my 3DS but as soon as I was playing it the loading screen did not stop doing that so I just took the card out and then took the mini card out of the R4 card and put it back in but I did something idk what and then I put it back in the card and put the card back in my 3DS and some how it just stopped with the loading screen and worked, idk what I just did but I guess I just fixed it =/

@jackokhan All you have to do is search for your card and add kernal at the end. I would search for R4 Upgrade 3 kernal. Look for a legit site that has the kernals. Then download the latest one, for your card. Most likely it wil be rar or zip file so you may need something to extract the files with. Extract all the files into your sd card that you have plugged into the computer. Then all you need now are the roms. Just search for a game and add rom. Extract to the sd card and voila.
