Thank you, not a swimmer- but a mover thru this universe trying to unlock.

Just actually tried it and said out loud: “oh wow, that’s intense.” I feel my whole chest expand, my hips feel very grounded aligned. My emotional state feels volition and anchor. 🙌🏻 id call it “Shoulder Windmill”

Another brilliant video 👍. Fun and liberating because it gets our minds to work with the Naturalness of our Bodies. I too have already shared. Thank you so very much!

Really simple and easy to remember. Can really feel it opening up my chest after a short mobilisation and it also tells me how tight those parts of my body are, including my neck.

Keep at it for a while and try feel it in your hips

Hi Mr. Van Lingen, your knowledge and wisdom is truly help my running. about 6 months ago, I found about you in floris gierman podcast, it literally blew my mind, and after that, i try to consistenly apply awesomiser and backward walking. Just this 2 think already improved my running a lot (more relaxed, more speed with lower cadence, better endurance), after that, i found your channel, and in the the last months, i try to study from your 1st video, and wow, a lot of think im still missing, and I still can be a better runner (im limiting only watch 2 of your video to avoid confussion because a lot of knowledge in there). Until this video, i still try to incorporate your breathing training, pelvic training, spine mobility, backward walking, and awesomiser in my daily training rutin. I dont know what the correct order in daily basis and the connection with strenght training, but hopefully it will help my running progression.

Wauw, i just did this move. I felt the siffness in my body. It was noisy too, like I could hear some tension was released in the muscles or fascia. Will add this one to my routine too 😃🙏

Awesome! Of course for me I’m very limited! I’ll just have to work within my range of motion. Thanks!

Yes always work within your limits. But the aim is to grow those limits

The pattern looks very similar to a flow rope underhand. Are they interchangeable or is there some magic in interlocking the fingers?
@LawrencevanLingenКүн бұрын
Hi Jamie it’s pretty much the same. It helps teach people if they can’t swing the rope underhand. Also locking the fingers makes the user use the trunk and you can get forearms aligned. Also watching the elbows is fantastic vestibular cochlear stimulation. Watching the rope go behind you can be too rapid and too much for some. The Beauty of this is you don’t need a rope and you can slow it right down.

Thank you for this video. I understand about not wanting to keep angular movement in your shoulders and elbows when you’re doing an activity . But what about keeping right angles with your elbows and moving your arms forward and back just to work on some movement within your shoulders of to pen range of motionp, but not trying to create a habit that you would use for other activities?
@LawrencevanLingen Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. There is no real bad movement and as they say motion is lotion. I never cue 90 degrees and I don’t really like to see 90 degrees in human motion, but will you explode if you do 90 degree movements? Of course not. Habits, repetition, intent and cues in motion can get you into trouble. Many peoples movements are angular from the 90 degree apparatus we train in, the desks we sit in and the world that surrounds as. We are meant to be fluid, relaxed and beautiful when we move. Hope that helps. Move well.

I have a request; could you trial then make a video about the following: Take what you have just shown there (just the shoulder part) and try it while running. That is; counter clockwise shoulder motion (as if you had the shoulder motion of a backstroke swimmer) while running. Which is pretty much the opposite of what everyone does. It also feels counter intuitive as we are going forward with shoulders rotating backwards. However, as it matches the rope flow perfectly I reckon this is the actual proper use of the spinal engine and the shoulder counter clockwise rotation balance the pelvis clockwise rotation. Opposite to what you mentioned in this video, they would not “follow” each other but “counter balance” each other. I tried that today for a small 7km and man, what a difference in efficiency. I think this may be a breakthrough in long distance running form. If there is merit to it, get in touch, I would like to discuss this some more.

That’s what I am saying the shoulders roll posterior figure of eight as you run

@@LawrencevanLingen can you show me one video on KZbin of someone actually doing this?
@@LawrencevanLingenI don’t think I explained it properly as I’m not seeing their shoulders **rotating** counter clockwise, like a backstroke swimmer - those shown are back and forth, pendulum swing shoulder motion, there is no rotation - so there is a misunderstanding here. I’ll try to make a video of what I’m talking about. Best I can find online is an example from David Weck kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5-7iX1qrbVrecksi=HlTwJGzzBcEUmYKv at 2:20 - not quite but he’s close to the idea. Look at his shoulder motion, forget the pulsing, it’s about the motion that make best use of the lats WHILE running (better spinal engine use than back and forth shoulders). This is exactly what you are demonstrating here, I just can’t find anyone online running with this.

any thoughts on 'early vertical forearm' cue as it relates to angular/robotic movement?

Not familiar with “early vertical forearm” is this for swimming?
