This series you guys are producing is awesome. Some really great insights, I think the biggest thing to take from this series for me is. Identifying your particular swing type is really important. Once you understand your swing type, you can identify the drills that will work for you and the there isn’t a one method fixes all. Scott Cowx is a legend.

I have been working on the positioning of the trail elbow, as Scott instructed in this video. It feels a bit ackward at first, and building the muscle memory takes a bit of time, but it really works. My 8-iron clubhead speed was about 75 mph, with Scott's trail elbow fix,I was seeing 82 mph and much more consistent line. I am getting a couple mph more with a 3 wood and driver doing this, but with improved ball flight trajectory and line. For me, this is one of the best videos yet. Thanks TXG!

Had my first lessons With the guru Mr Cowx yesterday! And I’d give it a 10/10 cleared up so much stuff for me and simplified my swing to where I actually am pumped to just go play golf and not golf swing!

When I saw the swing at 9:11 I thought, that looks good, and those are probably the best numbers I've ever seen from your 7 iron, lots of spin.

Will there be one where Scott goes over what the patterns are in more detail? Elephant Trunk, Constant Radius, etc.
@benmartinez8995 Жыл бұрын
You’ll probably have to do what I did which is purchase his certifications which he has two of them! They’re both around 200$ the first one is really good and the second was is advanced certification altogether there’s about 8-9 hours of zoom sessions with so much awesome info and detail! I contacted him thru Instagram and am now certified! And just had my first lesson with him over zoom and can’t say anything other than it was a game changer! Plus he’s only 175$ for an hour which these days is a bargain!
@jack-hq7gr Жыл бұрын
Do all this and you’ll be taking lessons forever and still be figuring out all those profound P positions. But I guess club fitters would love lots of details. All this happening in less than 1.58876 seconds( technically speaking). What happened with the other featured instructors? That’s show biz.
@IAM-xf9ir Жыл бұрын
@@benmartinez8995 each certification covers 2 patterns only? An overview of all the patterns and what type of golfer it fits would be ideal. Then more details through certificate programs if you'd like to know more. Speaking from an everyday golfers perspective tho
@cgolfc9407 Жыл бұрын
@@jack-hq7gr Struggling with those "profound P Positions"? P1 address, P2 shaft parallel to ground in backswing, P3 arm parallel to ground in backswing, P4 top of backswing. P5-P7 the inverse of 1-3. That will be $150
@benmartinez8995 Жыл бұрын
@@IAM-xf9ir the first certification goes over very important and relative numbers to make you a better teacher/player, it does touch on some of the patterns but before you can learn about those you must understand there is lots you can do to be a better player without changing your golf swing! The advanced certification which you must go thru the first to make it understandable goes thru all of his patterns and there variations! It’s out together very well in a zoom with multiple downloads so you can watch him and watch the slides he’s referring too! Tbh it’s probably the best 425$ I’ve ever spent on golf and it’s like 8+ hours of awesome information and how to make the correct changes

I was a 100% arms golfer until I started trying to pin my trail elbow to my torso. I know its not actually but it FEELS like it's pinned there. That forced my body to rotate and immediately gained 30yds on a 7i. Mind blowing.

@Fernando Barbosa I can certainly appreciate and understand where you're coming from. The entertainment value for me in lesson videos is in watching the golfer attain improvements with tangible results in real time. I'm not necessarily looking for a swing tip from lesson videos unless there is something very specific I can relate to with my swing. Otherwise you're right, you can go deep deep deep down the rabbit hole of swing tips and have a terrible time.

Love the 2/1/4 checkpoints for elbow distance. It seems counterintuitive, but the more width you have through the takeaway, the more likely you are to be narrow at the top of the backswing.

One big piece to the puzzle I didn’t notice mentioned with the elbow positions is the physical capabilities. A lot of your normal guys can’t pass a 90/90 test in golf posture. For them it doesn’t matter what the do they are not able to get the elbow pointed down at the top.
@brett7011 Жыл бұрын
Good point. I think that’s one reason why a strong grip is better for amateurs or even a slight wrist bow to keep the club behind the body appropriately.

So I know this isn’t video related but went with a friend to get an iron fitting at a big box retailer today. I got mine done at Club Champion a few years ago. As much as I didn’t like paying how much it cost for a full bag fitting, I would do mine all over again. Wasn’t impressed with what the big box retailer did for an iron fitting.

Yea that doesn’t happen in the down swing he wants to add right side bend at the top when it happens at impact or slightly passed impact .
@blackie1122 Жыл бұрын
Lead leg bent on impact which means his sitting back without weight shift causing it to pull right and become armsy. Still fairly neutral though don't get me wrong. Cameron McCormick at Altus golf does a lesson with Brodie Smith check his channel and gets him to do the 'elevator drill' to bring him into flexion on downswing. You've been golfing for so long this can't be new to you but the look you give when he asks you to do so, idk..

I feel like some of these swing thoughts only apply to the modern rotational swing and will completely ruin the traditional, classic swing that uses a more handsy release. While I'm sure it's great advice to rotational swingers, guys who aren't athletic can't generate the speeds required in a rotation swing to match their classic swing, and it may end up ruining both swings for them.
