Which version do you prefer - original or fixed? Let us know!

The fixed version is so intelligible.

Good job! I like this format of being able to hear someone with less experience talk through their process with someone who has more experience to then talk through how they would do it. It helps for beginners to intermediates I think to see both sides of the equation, and the side by side shows how the two approaches stack up in a clean way.

People keep saying acoustic DI is useless for mixing, and I never thought of putting an IR on it. Thank you for that tip!

Nothing is useless when you know how to use it :)

I'm really digging how in the back-to-back comparison the new version instantly gets wider and smoother, all harshness goes away. Well done!

I love these videos. Using your ears and making sure everything you do is for a specific reason is so very important for staying on track in a mix. I try not to do anything out of habit.

@@HertzDrums it is as hard rocking as it gets for acoustics. Guess you'll like it :-)

The original mix, the vocal sounds quite nice, but the acoustic sounds thin and weak. The 'fixed' version is much nicer, although the acoustic guitar in my opinion, sits too low in the mix, and although sounds like it has a better tone, it is too narrow, and is all mid range with not enough warmth in the bass, nor enough sparkle in the top end.

@@HertzDrums It's just my opinion sir, thank you for not being offended. I have been a DJ since 1980, have advanced national diploma in music technology, and play acoustic guitar/sing myself, so I guess I have some experience to offer a valid opinion.
