Fix Wireless Mouse Keeps Blinking But Not Working

Hi, welcome back to techaply.In today’s video, let’s walk you through how to fix a wireless mouse that keeps blinking or flickering but cursor doesn't move. This fix might be apply for both standalone wireless mouse or combo mouse and keyboard.
Step 1: Check Your Battery
Mostly, your mouse flickering indicates that your battery is low and it needs to be replaced. However, you can still check if it is used up or not by removing that battery from the tray and test it with another mouse or other device that use the same type of battery or a battery tester. After checking, let’s go to next step.
Step 2: Replace A New Battery In
If the low battery is the reason of your mouse flickering, then get a new replacement of your battery. In this step, you might want to disconnect your mouse from the usb dongle, turn off the mouse, replace the battery, connect the dongle and turn your mouse on again.
If anyone replaced the battery on the mouse and still have problem especially when you’re in a combo mouse and keyboard then try this method down below
Step 3: Reconnect Your Combo Mouse And Keyboard The Right Way
I’ve been using combo mouse and keyboard for quite a long time until I’ve realized this connecting problem between the two that might cause the mouse keeps flickering without its signal for cursor moving. Sometimes, it’s not the low battery but it’s because of the connection. Here is how to fix it.
First, remove the usb receiver from your port.
Next, turn off your wireless mouse and remove the battery
Next, turn off your keyboard and remove the battery
Now! This is the important notice that I’ve found on combo mouse and keyboard:
You always have to connect the keyboard first before connecting the mouse to its dongle. As per this rule. We need to put the battery back in to the keyboard first, and then plug the usb receiver back in, now, turn on the keyboard first. Remember that some keyboards don’t even have a on an off button, so, just plug the battery in and out for on and off. Now, check if your keyboard starts working or not. Here you can see that my keyboard indicating lights starts to flickering. Wait until this flickering is done and press on numblock or caplocks to see if its connected. After it’s connected, now, let’s put the battery back in the mouse and turn it on again!.
Voila, I’ve found this solution works pretty well on my combo mouse and keyboard when its not so synchronized working. If this solution doesn’t work for you then let’s go to way down below.
Step 4: Update Your Mouse Driver
Sometimes, your mouse flickering comes from a point that your driver is not up to date. Make sure you’ve got the latest mouse and keyboard driver, so, just press windows key plus X then choose device manger. Next, right click on mouse settings and choose update driver.
Remember to restart your laptop after the driver update to make it works.
