Part 2 was explained very well. So happy you said we should pull on the golf handle and not the nonsense I’ve heard about the hands and arms being passive or simply there for the rotational or turning ride. Keep educating us. Cheers.

Hi Stuart. I understand the pulling of the club towards the ball line, but my question is related to the lowering of the handle to under the chest prior to impact. Is this a conscious move. Its the handle going out towards the ball then the sudden lowering i have trouble coordinating.

This is a great series! Excellent summary of the all the elements you teach. For me the feeling of the right shoulder moving forward is a bit foreign and feels a little "over the top" although it is not that at all. I feel like I hit it best when I am trying to get the right shoulder even with the ball at impact even though I know it is not close to getting there in reality. Also, getting the left leg to straighten and moving the weight from toe to heel aggressively is much different than holding off the hip and shoulder motion which is what I used to do. When It comes together it feels like I can rotate as hard as I want and still hit it very straight. Looking forward to parts 3 and 4.

I'm still working on the bit where I pull the arms inward, I feel it nicely in slo-mo practice but not so good striking the ball. In my own vision (and in line with low-to-low hands) it looks like I could try thinking "hands in low - pull them ahead of club face, and aim to get HANDS going AROUND my lead thigh"? I've been one of those people that view the downswing from high to high and throwing straight through sort of on the ball line (and getting stuck) - so this coaching really changes my unconscious efforts.

Feeling that pressure down really does help with maintaining posture and balance, along with retracing the handle path. Hit some of my best shots this weekend with just that thought. Also stops you lifting the handle and we all know where that garbage gets you

@@GoodGolfCoaching Moe Norman's Master Move provides similar results to a lot of your teaching of the downswing. I came to understanding how pros swing differently from practicing Moe Norman's Master Move position, back to the top and then back to his position. That gets your downswing started in a clockwise direction, with your elbow moving in and your right palm facing the target line. From that clockwise start, everything you teach is spot on. I don't think many of the people watching ever realize about the need for a clockwise move of the hands from the top starting in transition. You refer to that motion as moving the club out, but it's necessary that those hands have a clockwise motion which automatically then starts shallowing the shaft behind you. The strong left hand grip and the pressure on the handle has brought the whole process together for me. Thank you.

Good old Moe; lots to unpick with his action, very different to what I encourage Rick, but if you enjoy his action and a little of my content, makes for a happy viewer!
@rickstevens96282 ай бұрын
@@GoodGolfCoaching well, I was referring to Moe's Master Move, which is a position. I don't like Moe's swing, regardless of its effectiveness. It's the clockwise rotation which you failed to acknowledge, but that's ok. I do think you have uncovered what's correct and what's garbage in instruction. The clockwise rotation of the hands, be it from your pull or what Moe suggested with his Master Move position is at the core of understanding how to start the downswing. I think you're missing the boat in that regard by just saying it's a pull as you do.

Great video,feel im doing something close, for me the key to a pull motion.is to load the left shoulder girdle,ie muscles connected to shoulder,at mo im feeling power in left pec! but the real key surely must be how you imagine, feel ,etc the left side returning to impact and beyond,for me at mo its back of left hand thanks for all great videos,today shot 7 over in medal,no birdies but no dbls! hit 8 out of first 9 greens

The confusing thing for me is, as an aspiring golfer of some 10 months and in my first season is that. At 6:36.. and the whole pulling the club forward.. Your hands are over the edge of the -11.0 to the right. Then when you actually swing the club 6:39.. your arms are not over there, all that way right, but are now not even touching the box of the -11.0 to the left.. its confusing the wotsits out of me. When I see a lot of golfers swing.. its a down motion and not out, pulling forwards so much... so this is just some feedback. You're swing is great by the way and you've honed it over the years of course..we can all see that... I am finding out (like most people do eventually) that the golf swing is such a personal thing that the path must be followed by the individual and no amount of KZbin will fix it.. because, ultimately, its someone else's golf swing your seeing, and not your own. There are no shortcuts.. and that's the way is should be... and what makes golf so brilliant. The techniques you mention in your videos are very insightful and I have watched most of them.. so thanks for putting them up here. :)

Thank you my friend; if you appreciate we are apposing the force, if you consider this then pulling forward is crucial.
@leijiang8944Күн бұрын
Stuart, you said the first move is pulling the club towards the ball, and your hands were right above the ball line during the step by step phase. However, when you did the full swing, your hands were right at your toe line, not the ball line. When I swing along my toe line and in, my contact is solid. When I pull towards the ball, I won’t be able to get back fast enough, and result is weak heel shot and no compression. Thanks.

Hello Stu - Question - When a I take a full practice swing, no ball as course, and go back to my address position the club has turned in my hands. I have tried a weak grip, a strong grip, a tight grip and a loose grip. Some instructors say that is normal and others don't know why it does that. Does your club do the? Firing my hips help some. Thx.

Ok, I think I got step 1 down now. Good grip - check, swing it up - check, pull handle towards ball - check, ensure it counters the gravity - um check (science should take care of that not my job), don't forget to keep the club head behind the ball to target line - you losing me, don't forget the right shoulder needs to come with you as you do this (which also should be automatic if done correctly), AND the left hip needs to move back - oh boy! only thing is, the handle is still high so we must now feel how this golf club can then return back under us! Dear Lord! Is that it? ... *drum roll* which brings us to the lower half of the body... oh f...! Good golf coaching - maybe in person, but most definitely not for KZbin.

Not to difficult really. Pull the handle of the club at the 45 degrees towards the ball, while simultaneously pulling your hands down and left. There’s a bit of timing involved for sure, and it’s a little different for everyone…but the thought process should be pretty much the same.

@@IdaGolfoI agree GGC lessons really helped me to understand the delivery from “handle forward slot”. Bradley Hughes called the slot “4:30 path” and delivery is like speed boat (handle, hand) is pulling the water skier (club head) through the slack of rope (shaft) toward the ramp (ball). If you are like me you may enjoy this video now even more than before. Bradley said speed is built in the physics and you just rotate. Stuart’s lesson videos are most detailed and user friendly against all the other Utube golf coaches. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGKUmYBvi8afkJosi=M9d-rOS00NouZUKz

Sorry this does not have anything to do with this video. I was watching one of yours giving a guy a lesson and in the lesson, you stated he may start to hit shanks and then you would make another adjustment to finalize and correct that… well I was at the range yesterday and all of a sudden I couldn't get the ball airborne, 15 shanks in a row, it was/ felt like a weak slap fade when it didn't shank. Instead of 140 yard 9 iron it was going low and 105 yards. What happened! Help

The explanation on how to get the hand down to the ball is very confusing. When I pull my hands to the ball… it totally gels and results in me coming over the top and cutting the swing plane.
