On this episode of Tow Rig Tech we are going to show your how to fix your 6.7 Cab Bushings once and for all! I have been driving my 2013 Ford F250 6.7 Powerstroke for a year now and it has 175k miles on it. I started to get the infamous F250 body mount bushing noise which meant is was time for the dreaded body mount bushing replacement. That is when I noticed that my body lines between the cab and bed were no longer lined up. A quick call to my friends at NCB Diesel and I had a new set of S&B cab mounts F250 crew cab version on the way. The problem is the factory 6.7 Powerstroke body mount bushings are made of some kind of foam instead of rubber. This was supposed to give better performance but instead the foam just breaks down over time and causes problems. The solution for this is a set of $700 (crew cab price) S&B Cab Bushings made of Silicone. Not only do these have plenty of give but they also will last the life of the truck and come with a lifetime warranty. DO NOT put the cheap poly bushings on your truck as these have no give and will rattle your truck to death. When it comes to F250 body mount bushings rubber vs polyurethane is usually the decision but really these Silicone S&B Filters body mounts are the way to go. They work for all the 6.4 and 6.7 powerstroke cab mounts including F250 and F350. We hope this video helps with your Super Duty F250 body bushing replacement. If you have any questions just hit us up in the comments.

I watched this video as I too was experiencing the rattle. It was super helpful. I did chuckle a bit when you showed the worn out bushing and called it “gone.” The one under my rear passenger side literally is gone, nothing left underneath but metal. Thank you for the awesome video.

I just changed the mounts in my 2012 F250 4 door long bed. I used the S&B mounts. Luckily that I have friend with a 12,000 pound lift. We only used manual tools. It kicked our asses, but we got it done. We didn’t have to remove any thing extra. No spinning nuts. We used a little heat on the bolts to break the Loctite.

Run the bolts through a die to get the loctite off and threads smoothed. If the body bolts are tightened to the correct torque they do not loosen. I slather them with grease after stripping off the loctite. The cab may have to be lifted for a repair and you might be the one taking those out again. I have had trucks that I had to do cab up repairs years after I did mounts. It made little hearts fly up and pop as I undid those easy-peasy cab bolts from no thread locker and lubed to reduce rusting..

Will these add more comfort to the ride as well? I purchased old truck new to me 2 years ago, first time truck owner. Never really wondered until now if the rough ride is a normal thing for trucks. What was the labor cost to have this done? The mounts on my 2013 crew cab are toast and I need to do this. I called the dealership, knowing they'd be high, but wanted to get an idea on labor. They were high alright. They said the whole cab had to come off. I guess technically they were correct. I'll find another shop here to help me, but was just curious what it cost you.

Not as easy as it looks folks. I have a 2011 F-250 with 183,000 miles on it. The ones up from were so rusted in there that I not only spun the cage nut but also broke the bold off up in there. As highly advised.. I did NOT (and DO NOT) use an impact gun. I heated the bolts up and even took the grill and headlights out to spray blaster on the top of the threads and still spun the cage nut and broke the bolts. Now to get to the front cage nut to do surgery, I’ll have to drain all the coolant and A/C , remove all the lines, hoses and take out the radiators and removing the entire core support. If you have a high mileage truck.. do yourself a big favor and trade the truck in before removing the front bushings!

Easy with a new truck. Real trucks you can't replace bushings without rebuilding crushed mounts, torching out rotted hardware, cutting holes in the cab floor to reach the nuts. That's just to get out the old ones. Then the bolts don't line up in the holes because the frame is bent. After a week of squeezing the 4.5 death wheel where it should never go. Upside down welding and a trip to the ER with a spark lodged inside an eye. The new bushings are in but now the doors don't close, the fan hits the rad, the windshield cracked and the last bushing needed a two inch spacer from the machine shop to fit.

They were trashed, I threw them away. The only other thing you can do is buy some older 7.3 ones that are rubber. These foam ones are junk.

Only Ford Trucks have these issues. Buy another brand and the body mount problems also go away.
