Got the same grill! Makes working on my truck so much easier being able to stand inside.

Just did this on my 2011 extended cab.it took about 3 hours from start to finish following these exact steps.Heated those bolts with a torch and they came right out .

How long did you heat the bolts for?

Dawg I just came inside from working on mine. I broke the driver side core support bolt, so I’m in the same boat as far as trying to beat the rest of the cage nut out of there. I’m finding solace in knowing I’m not the only one struggling with this, and I can’t agree enough that I should’ve paid a shop to do this.

Yessir brother don’t give up you just gave me Vietnam flash backs. I remember regretting it so bad for hours I thought it was impossible to get out I think I used a bottle jack and a punch at some point

@@nick7.3you have to heat the bolts until they're glowing red. They'll come right out. They have to be glowing red to melt the thread locker. You can't get them to hot!
@sararook82245 күн бұрын
Your fuel tank is on the left. The drivers side / left side sits about an inch lower because of the weight from the fuel tank. Do NOT put the impact on the bolts! You'll break the nuts off from the keepers. You have to heat the bolts red hot to melt the thread locker. I can't stress enough that you have to get the bolts glowing red hot! Heat them until they are glowing red. They should come right out. Good luck.

Hey man.. Have you had any problems with your truck? Ive heard the 11 thru 14 trucks have some problems. Looking at a 14 but am also having second thoughts.. Thanks in advanced nice truck btw

Thank you and no sir I have not when I get to 1 year of ownership I plan on making a video on this topic, I’ve put like 8k miles on it and all that has went bad after purchase was the brake booster and 1 brake line. 2013 and 2014 6.7s are different than the 2011-2012. I’ve never heard anyone have any issue with a 2013-2014 that is worse than 2015+ yet

What made you change yours? Were you hearing a popping/thunk sound? Or was there any signs you noticed? My 13 is starting to have a thunk/pop noise when I go over bumps and it seems very “bouncy”. Brand new shocks, ball joints and wheel bearings. I’ve had S&B mounts for a while just haven’t gotten around to doing them yet.

It was trying to fix body leaning
@sararook82245 күн бұрын
You will not change the body lean. The drivers side sits an inch lower because of the weight from the fuel tank. 😊@@nick7.3

Nope not by enough sadly I guess the fuel tank makes it lean I don’t believe that tho
