What's your opinion on muscle knots in the neck ? Are they cuased due to forward head posture ? Can these exercises release the hard knots ?

These exercises are good, but you have to figure out and stop doing what is causing you to be hunchbacked in the first place. For me it's reading in bed and using my iPad at my chest. Since I started these stretches, I built a support for the iPad at slightly above eye level to avoid the chin down posture. The combination of these exercises and keeping my chin up and head and shoulders back whenever possible has improved my posture greatly. But I usually overdo my exercises, thus, at least in my case, it has been a painful process as the chest is being restructured.

Thank you for validating these exercises that I have used for some months with considerable success. However, a caution should be included that these exercises will stretch chest muscles and lead to chest pain and spasms that may induce fear of a heart attack. Proceed with caution if you have, or fear that you have a heart condition.

Not a doctor, but given the nature of AS I would say probably not. If you do I would imagine it would be painful with little, if any gains.
