Audio is a complex and infinitely varied subject. I attempt to narrow it down to some practical tips to help you fix your stream audio and sound more like a pro! These tips will work for both OBS Studio as well as Streamlabs OBS and while the plugins are OBS / SLOBS specific, the concepts behind compression, noise gate, audio ducking and ReaFIR can be applied to any solution that uses these essential audio tools. Here's the link for the Reaper ReaFIR plugin: www.reaper.fm/reaplugs/ Thank you for watching and I hope you find this video helpful!

Hi Ninja! My favorite ice cream is chocolate (depending on the brand - I'm picky) and your video was freakin' awesome! I gotta tell you, I really wish I had found your video first, because I literally spent days looking through other videos on youtube trying to figure out what was going wrong with my audio and OBS. You broke it down in a way that no other video did, explained the differences between other mics and what the filters actually do so that people can understand the relevance and importance of applying those settings to audio while live streaming. I love that you explained where your audio levels should be in comparison to game audio and discord audio, because I had no idea. I have a really soft voice so I feel like mics I've tried have always had a hard time picking up my tiny voice. For me, the audio would always trail or cut out, for a while I was even having echoing issues ... But your solution to where certain mics should be placed - how far it should be from your mouth when talking - has helped me a ton. I've been testing these changes to my mic in recordings and I feel like my audio sounds so good now in comparison to my ... past blunders. This has renewed my confidence. THANK YOU. You're the best. See you around the interwebs!

I just got into live streaming. I've been playing and recording for a while now, a few years, but just recently took the plunge into live streaming. My first one, no game audio at all. No one to tell me either, My second one, had an audience, but my mic wasn't being streamed! I searched around to find out what I was doing wrong and came across your video. Really helped me UNDERSTAND the why behind the settings and how to adjust for my set up. THANK YOU!

I just have to say...I've been struggling with audio for a year now and I think, finally, for the first time, I have them fixed up. All the other tutorials I watched helped marginally but still had issues with audio clipping when I got too loud and I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to fix it. With some tests it looks like it's finally fixed and I have you to thank for that!!

@@Ninja614 Just did a relisten when adding a new audio routing. My microphone is worth nothing right now - it's the mic on my headset. But last stream I used the mic on my webcam and about 15 minutes in, the audio buffered for about 15 seconds. I didn't catch it, so my mic audio was desynced with everything else for virtually the whole stream! Ah well. I have a much better mic coming next week and I hope it can take full advantage of this video. I'm JosephNobles over in Twitch by the way. :) Tonight's "ice cream" is two bananas blended with a third of a cup of pineapple! Weird diet stuff...

However, I needed to remove the noise suppression from ReaFIR, since it made my voice like a was speaking through a bundle of cotton. @Ninja6143 жыл бұрын
Limiter might be necessary, but if you balance your audio and do compression properly, it’s usually unnecessary. The ReaFIR plug-in and noise gate I cover in this video is, in fact, noise suppression / cancellation.
