Hey that was quite the fix! Came from your original video as I am a concrete finisher and am wanting to tackle my patio extension in two sections and its really cool to see that even when a project doesn't go how you want you can always make it prettier without completing scrapping and starting over. That's really nice. I have a painted patio that I need to spruce up and I thought about laying tile or stone on it but I have a low lip sliding door and I don't really want to raise the overall level of the patio. This looks very good and should be a lot cheaper and easier to do.

Congratulations Scott, you did good job considering your experience. I've known guys that have been doing for awhile and they still have a hard time spraying it consistently. That is the key, consistency. Next time you spray a deck, I suggest you trowel it LIGHTLY, it will look much better 😉. You'll need a helper so you can trowel while they spray. DON'T trowel when too wet. Give it a minute but don't let get dry on you. I use golf shoes to walk on for troweling. Good luck 👍🏼

Hello Scott, thanks for the video. That was better than the manufacturers video. 2 quick questions if you don't mind. When you did the test, you sprayed then troweled. When you did the main section, did you trowel or just spray? Also, what was the PSI you used to spray? Thanks for your time.

Hi Scott- I have an old ugly concrete patio with wood expansion joints in quite a few places (been there for 20 years). I am afraid to take them out and fill with self leveling concrete. Will the concrete crack if there isn’t an expansion joint in? Thank you! Great video!

I am not an expert on concrete. Just a DIYer. On mine I routed off an inch and then filled it in. It has been 6 months and everything is good, no movement or cracks.

You'd have to prep the surface first. Probably just sand/scuff any smooth surfaces to create a porous surface and then apply your primer. daichcoatings.com/surface-prep-tips/

I purchased a gallon of muriatic acid and mix it 10 parts water for one part acid for the etching. I can't remember the brand of the self-leveling concrete. I purchased it at Home Depot, though.

The bond will only be as good as the bond the current coat of paint has... obviously

You did this last fall so wondering how it wintered? I don't know where you are of course. Also, do the chairs being dragged in and out affect the surface? Sure looks great in September. We are in Texas with had an unusually cold winter below zero. The SpreadRock looks the same now as when I applied it. The chairs to not affect the surface. It will stain if you spill something on it, just like concrete will stain. You have to seal it an wash spills off before they stain.

Stains do not easily come off with a garden hose spray, but they do come off using soapy water.
