I have used KZbin a ton of times for DIY videos to fix things or what not. This video has to be the BEST one yet. Super easy to follow and very thorough. I even liked the part how Steve shows you how to put everything back together, instead of having to re-watch the video do things in reverse. This was a lot easier. Saved a bunch of money on a repairman or even worse, buying a new dryer without even trying to fix it. Thanks, Steve!

All I have to say is thank you so much Steve. Step by step and to the point. The view from inside also was a HUGE help for understanding the components for the belt. Keep up the great work!

Thank you for this tremendously helpful and clear video! Our Kenmore Elite model 529 dryer recently stopped working and this video gave me all of the information I needed to replace the belt, rollers and tensioner. And with this experience, I wouldn't hesitate to perform future repairs on it. I wish every instructional video was as thorough as this one!

Just got done replacing the thermal fuse, high limit thermostat, and thermistor on an LG DLE3777W dryer (when I researched the fuse on Amazon, it said people also bought the thermostat and thermistor so I bought all three for 27 dollars). Used this video as a step by step guide and it couldn't have been any easier. Thanks for saving us about 700 dollars for a new one.

I was totally going to scrap my 15 year old dryer after watching a couple of minutes of this video, but then for the hell of it I scrolled down and saw your comment and the fact that you have the exact same machine. I thought hell if he can do it I can do it. Followed the video, ordered the fuse and thermostat together for 10 bucks on Amazon, and boom! Fixed!

Thank you so much for this video! I just fixed my LG DLE3777W dryer by following this video and replacing the fuse and thermostat (which I ordered and received in less than 24 hours from Amazon and at a cost of 10 bucks). I wasn't going to do it. It's a 15 year old machine. I was just going to go out and suck it up and buy a new one. But then saw a comment where someone fixed the exact same machine so I went for it. Your video was bang on perfect. One of the easiest repairs I've ever done. Actually it's good this happened because the lint buildup inside the machine was kind of scary (major fire hazard). Feels so good to keep things going for almost nothing and DIY all the way! KZbin and the community that posts on it absolutely RULES!

This video was perfect for my dryer. Very thorough and easy to follow instructions. At 9:40 he mentions that while replacing the thermal fuse, one should also replace the high limit thermostat. I wish I had learned this earlier, because I had not purchased a new high limit thermostat, so ended up doing the repair twice (after the new thermal fuse blew because the high limit thermostat was likely the real problem). Works great now!

Just wanted to chime in and say this is such a great video and can be applied to new/different models, just follow the same general steps :) Unfortunately for me, it didn't work, because I learned the real issue was that my outlet was putting out 120V, instead of the full 240V, so I went to replace the fuses and it works! So now I have an extra set of temperature fuses/limiters and confidence to replace it, if ever needed. Thanks!
@cierramoten5179 Жыл бұрын
I believe this may be the same issue I am having. My dryer turns on and spins, but no heat or air. It is a brand new dryer, less than a year old. Recently a lot of outlets in our home went out and a repairman came out and said that our fuse box is flawed. So I'm wondering if that's what it may be with my dryer. My question to you is, how did u go about finding the proper fuse for your fuse box for the dryer? And my spots are unmarked on the fuse box, so I don't really know where to begin
@KaronaG Жыл бұрын
@@cierramoten5179 yikes, fortunately for me, my 2 dryer fuses were clearly marked and next to each other. Other than that, I imagine the next thing would be to test individual fuses which sounds incredible inconvenient and annoying, but I'm not sure how else you could determine it. Perhaps if there's any visual indicators on your fuses, you can go with a flashlight and inspect them for any elements that look burnt/damaged/broken

This video is awesome. I have a newer gas model DLGX4371K from 2018 and everything was exactly the same as far as disassembly with the exception of the connections for the panel which is self explanatory. Every detail is covered in the instructions. I was replacing the thermal fuse in the blower which requires the same disassembly. Once the part arrived I launched the video and had it up and running in 30 minutes. Thanks for saving me a ton of money! I can only imagine what they charge for that job. For reference my blower thermostat fuse was #6931EL3002M. On Amazon it stated which LG models this part number covered.

Great video! After about 20 years my dryer stopped heating. Figured I'd try fixing it before spending 1000 bux on a new one. Glad I did! After about $12 in parts and 3 hours of my time, my dryer is working again. Just wanted to add. There are videos out there showing how to go through the exhaust port. Don't do that. Open the thing up and clean it out. With all the lint that was in mine, it was a fire hazard. That is pretty much where I spent most of my time on this project, getting the thing cleaned up. Again, great video, and thanks.

Like many others, this video was perfect even though my unit was slightly different. I was able to get to the thermal fuse and thermostat, checked for continuity and found that the thermal fuse was blown. Replaced them both since the Amazon listing had both pieces for $11 and now I have a working dryer again. Not just that but i found pounds of gunked up lint that could've cause a fire. Likely the cause of the fuse blowing. Thanks for saving the day.

@jamesp.stansbury80052 жыл бұрын
I tried the approach of removing it through the exhaust/vent hole but found that I could not get/keep a screwdriver on the upper screws holding the thermostat and thermal fuse into the heating element manifold. If one works well in braille, or maybe had one of those angle head screwdrivers it could work out. It was easier for me to take the thing apart. The newer model has fewer plug-ins to the control panel and that made things a bit easier. This video is a good clear guide to getting this dissassembled without tearing things up. Dryer fixed!
@drumstixx673 ай бұрын
This is an excellent video with great instructions! With that said, there is a much easier way (with only one screw to remove) to access these parts as some others have stated. I removed the flexible vent tube and inner vent tube. I then used a small screwdriver to replace both parts. It’s a little tricky to see what you’re doing but having had to take the entire dryer apart for belt replacements before, I can say that accessing this through the vent hole in the back of the dryer was MUCH easier and faster. Great video instruction as usual, though. Thank you!

I cut a larger access hole in the side and accessed it without taking apart everything. After that, I fabricated a nice-looking metal mini door and used a nice hinged metal access panel in case I needed to get back into that area. I made it large enough to fit both hands and arms in comfortably. A pair of tin snips cut right through and I came in on the left side if you're facing the front. Takes about 5 minutes.

I'm wondering if my dryer is fixable ... We had an electrical short and now the dryer will not turn on. The "light" in the drum comes on but the actual power button will not turn the dryer on so I'm HOPING it could be this thermal fuse ? And hoping it is not a complete electrical fry of the mother board and if this is a somewhat easy fix I'd much rather do that than get a brand new dryer (it is 11 years old and similar to this pictured in video ... Help !!

If there is a vital fuse in this dryer that will most likely need occasional replacement, why in the world did the designing engineers neglect to flip the healing element fuse assembly and create a removable plate in the side panel for easy access. So dumb!
