Update !!! After I posted my first comment, I went back and researched a little more, and I've read that the first thing is to check was the breakers, sometimes you lose 1 of the two lines without completely tripping your double breaker. I went and did it. And voila !!!! The dryer is working. I've spent plenty of time cleaning tons of lint while I had it taken apart, it took me 10 x more time than taking it apart and put back together. Thank you for sharing the video !!!

Awesome, thanks! My LG dryer blew the fuse 8 months ago ($10.00 part); and your video made it possible for me to replace it. Blew the fuse again last week, so I ordered a replacement heating element just in case the old one was causing the fuses to blow. Would have been nice if LG had provided an access panel - the job could be done in ~5 minutes instead of having to disassemble the dryer. You folks are the best!

This is a great video. In fact, I've used two of these guy's videos just in the last 2 months - once for the dryer, the other for the washer. In both cases, the videos have been instrumental in guiding me through. Thank you! From my experience today: 1. Have your phone or camera ready so you can take pictures of how things go together. 2. It takes about 2 hours, possibly more, depending on how dirty you find your dryer. 3. Have a vacuum cleaner, rags and possibly some soapy water or mild cleaner handy. 4. After you're done vacuuming the best you can, turn the vac to "blow" (if possible) and see how much more dirt you were about to keep in there. 5. Remove the little triangle retainers from the wheels and clean the spindle thoroughly. Mine were wrapped with hairballs from the pack of hairy monkeys I call, family. Don't forget the belt tensioner wheel. 6. Do NOT use any oil or grease on the spindle or wheels. Those will attract dirt and not help at all. Use a rag and clean them until they feel smooth. Reassemble the wheels and triangle retainers. 7. Label the heating unit with wire colors, part number (if missing) and installation date. This last one to see how long the Chinese replacements last. 8. Run one manual cycle of about 20 mins on medium heat to burn off the metallic smell off the heater coils

I used this video to fix my dryer! I looked up the model for the heating element for my dryer. Bought it off amazon. It came but one of the fuses was different so i ordered the right fuse and put that one in place of the wrong one on the heating element. I followed your video step by step more or less because my dryer model is slightly different buy holy hell I fixed my dryer for $60!! I’ve never fixed something like this in my life….thank you thank you thank you soooooo much!!!

Thanks I used this to fix my dryer. It really was a nightmare down there with burnt lint after 7 years of use. I didn't figure out how to take out the roller and just kept it in and replaced the heater element by using a tight space screwdriver. Probably could have a used a ratchet as well. Anyhow thanks for this you guys have saved my family money yet again. Solo this took me two hours.

Great video. My dryer stopped heating two days ago. It will cost $100 just to have a repair technician diagnose the problem. While this deposit will be deducted from the ultimate cost of the repair, I'm sure the labor costs will not be cheap. This video gives me confidence I can do it myself. The RepairClinic.com web site helped me find the specific parts for my specific LG model and highlighted the 3 most probable part failures to cause my dryer to stop heating. RepairClinic.com is the best internet service web site I've ever encountered. This site blew my socks off. It even ships parts to Canada - way to go.

Extra tip, the control panel wire, just squeeze the fitting and you can set the face and back panel aside instead of it being in your way. Also, if you have to remove the tumbler/belt, you'll be having one heck of a night getting it back together again. After you get the door off and set aside, if you're only replacing the heating element, don't bother with removing the belt or tumbler, just remove the two screws holding in the heating element, take a picture of what wires go where, disconnect, and place the new heating element in, replace screws, and connect the wires in their correct locations, and reverse install everything you took apart. That tumbler and belt crap is for the birds...

Well I watched your video, then did it my way which was much faster and just happened to be all I needed. So thanks for the information either way. Ill leave here what I needed done. Something was stuck in blower. You could see the end of the rag in the lint chute before the blower. Took off lint chute covering from inside the drum and used a long strong peice of metal (screwdriver and colosthe hanger) to move it out an inch then had to sneak my hand in there to get a better grip to get it out all the way.

Bought the part from you guys (fast delivery, thanks!) and replaced the part. The video was great. A few things: 1. Still no heat. Why would that be? 2. I'm pretty sure that I need a new motor. I have to (and have had to for a while now) open the door, spin the drum while pressing in the button at the top, then pushing start. All that to make it start spinning. Otherwise, it just hums. 3. I found 2 small pewter-like pieces and 2 tiny springs below the motor. I took EVERYTHING apart and for the life of me couldn't figure out where they go. Any idea on what I need to do here? Would needing a new motor still affect the no heat issue? I'm okay with ordering and installing a new motor as a repair guy gave me a quote of 300 or so for less work. Sucks to be dealing with this right now, though.
@repairclinic10 жыл бұрын
One side of the 220 volt circuit goes through the motor switch. If the centrifugal switch on the motor is not working properly it can cause a no heat situation. I would replace the motor first and see if this also solves the no heat issue.
@tonepoet10 жыл бұрын
***** I already put in the heating element. I got the tax return and my wife and I figured we would fix our washer and dryer then sell it. After replacing the heating element I decided to just keep it (since there are not a lot of other parts to worry about. It will save me a lot. I'll slap the motor in anyway, as I'm sure that this is shot. Any idea what the 2 pewter/silver pieces and 2 tiny springs are for?
@tonepoet10 жыл бұрын
***** Got the motor and replaced it. The motor was defective nonetheless (it just hummed unless we reached in and turned it by hand to get it going). Still no heat. I also cleaned the contacts in the filter assembly but nothing. What else could it be? I've replaced a bit on this now, and cleaned this thing pretty well.

Hi guys, So i accidently bought the part -LG Electronics 5301EL1001G Dryer Heater Assembly- for my DLE5977B LG Tromm. My wires are all in front of the control panel and my heater assembly does not have the 3 prong high heat thermostat thing like your part does. after installing my dryer starting smoking. I cleaned all the lint out and my exhaust is fine. Any ideas? do i need to buy the different thermostat? would it be compatible with the part i have now? Sorry im at a loss and your videos have been super helpful. let me know if you can help. thank you!
@repairclinic9 жыл бұрын
***** That is the correct heater element assembly according to LG, but as you found out your high limit thermostat only has two terminals. It looks like you have to remove the one that comes with the heater and reuse your old high limit thermostat to install this part properly. You could also get it separately if you think it has failed. www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/High-Limit-Thermostat/6931EL3001E/1268363?TLSID=1773
@GottaFlu9 жыл бұрын
my old one only has 2 terminals as well? would that still work implying that the old one is operational? thanks for replying!
@repairclinic9 жыл бұрын
***** Yes. You would install the old two terminal thermostat on the new heater assembly replacing the three terminal thermostat it comes with.
@GottaFlu9 жыл бұрын
***** both my old and new thermostats come with a 2 terminal thermostat. do you guys offer the 3 terminal thermostat? and would it work? im really sorry for all the questions. thanks for all the help
@repairclinic9 жыл бұрын
***** This assembly comes with the three terminal thermostat. Your model does not use a three terminal thermostat, it uses a two terminal thermostat. You will need to reuse the old two terminal thermostat or purchase a new one in order to install this assembly. Everything should hook up exactly like the original once you swap out that thermostat.
