UPDATE: Part 2 is now showing back up in the search results but part 1 still isn't. Although people have told me they saw it recommended just a few hours ago. Hopefully it'll be fixed shortly. Thank you guys to everyone who tweeted KZbin about this. They pretty much stopped lying shortly after the influx of people telling them they couldn't find these vids and offered to look into it, so I really appreciate you all helping me get these back up. I just tried directly copying the video’s URL into the YT search bar, which will always come up with the video with that URL as the 1st or 2nd result, and it literally didn’t come up at all, like there wasn’t anything even related to the video in the search results. Weird. I've noticed KZbin's search algorithms have produced some strange results recently and the recommendations that have come through on my home page(s) have been downright bizarre - not that they've been from strange channels because that's always happened but videos from years ago. And I know it's not just me because other people have commented to similar effect. So I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that the videos have been 'shadow banned', although that doesn't mean they haven't been, but I do think that the recent changes made to the search algorithm, which now includes recommendations unrelated to the search criteria entered, has broken something within the system.

I think this is a pretty clear case of the algorithm being the algorithm. I am brand new to the channel and they were all over my feed, I chose not to click them because they didnt look like a finished series on a topic or something I was interested in (top 10 fake youtubes: what happened to person I dont know?). it is basically not giving the content to his regular viewers because it isnt matching flags for the algorithm to pick it up, but it is showing it to people who just discovered the channel because the videos are recent and from the algorithms position, more likely to be relevant.

The low view count is because of who the algorithm is targeting the videos at, not any kind of shadow banning. It isnt that I wont watch them at some point it is just as a new viewer to the channel there is other stuff to watch.

Users don't get informed about shadow bans on any platform. The whole point of a shadow ban is to just let the user keep doing what they're doing until they do something bad enough to warrant a full ban, while still preventing the shadow banned content from getting any interaction.

Honestly, the scariest thing about all of this is the fact that youtube tried to sweep your content under the rug without any rhyme or reason. So no matter what I do my channel will not grow. I'm uploading basically the same type of videos as all the other RC channels that are growing significantly. And every time I comment on people's videos nobody seems to see my comments. How can I find out if my channel has been Shadow banned. I tried searching "iamsophie inside a mind", and interestingly there weren't any search suggestions (in the search bar dropdown) after typing in "iamsophie i". For reference, if you type e.g. "pizza time pizza i", it will suggest "pizza time pizza inside a mind" in the dropdown. Similarly, when I type "the bizarre w" there's no autocomplete suggestion for the video title. It's similar to what happens when you try to search a phrase that contains a swear word, the autocomplete just shuts down.

The first video is finally showing up in search now, FYI I think somebody broke something in the search. KZbin constantly tinkers with stuff on the live site that it absolutely shouldn't, and they've done this for goddamn YEARS without ever being called out. The number of times I've watched this site collapse in on itself because some dumb ass coder was experimenting on live is just astounding. I do not understand their design mentality at all (and disagree with 99.999% of it), but more importantly, they seem to share they same QA testers as Bethesda.

I might actually know why. It’s because you broke “consistency”. What do I mean by that? Look at the other videos you’ve posted there’s a consistent look and “brand” to how you make your videos. Iamsophie thumbnail and all broke that, so because you have a consistent style, they won’t show the videos that break that. Look at WarpZone’s video talking about their shadow ban. They post skits and when they tried to do something different by making a week of VR videos (completely different than skits) their WHOLE channel got shadow banned for MONTHS.

This is the problem with YT. It’s such a large site and while automation is the only feasible way to manage it, the system itself is way too faulty and there isn’t a large enough support team to help everyone at a decent rate. If KZbin had the resources it could be much more effective but I’m not sure how costly it would be or if KZbin could realistically afford it.

This a a broken algorythm thing. It's been happening to some of my videos as well, where it takes a week or more for them to show up in people's recommendeds. Supposedly it's because youtube has fewer manual reviewers, but regardless, it's very annoying

I'm honestly amazed that more people haven't simply gotten sick of Facebook's antics and decamped. They consistently prove themselves to be untrustworthy, and definitely not concerned with their users' best interests. I doubt you will ever get an explanation, and unfortunately I won't be surprised if they pull another stunt like this- if not to you, then to another content producer for similarly opaque reasons.

I’m a KZbinr and I get shadow banned a lot, sadly mine seems to be my channel! Again KZbin gives you nothing.. very frustrating. I hope you get it sorted.

I still watch my subbed channels for you and a bunch other youtubers every single day, and I check on your channel about every other day to see if there is anything new. Don’t worry.
