I'm a Type 1 diabetic, I do think people need to be more educated some people think diabetes is a lifestyle disease but Type 1 and Type 2 are different, Type 2 is a lifestyle disease and Type 1 is an autoimmune disease. Type 2 can be reversed if you eat well and is easier to manage in a tablet form unfortunately that's not the case for Type 1's you cannot reverse it its a life sentence, you have to nurse it, its a 24/7 disease it can be a hard, it makes life more challenging but you have no choice but to live with it. Hope there will be a cure one day 🙏

So I have type 1 and I just want a question answered for me as I’ve never gotten the information. I’ve had it for 5 months so I’m not as amazing as others. If you’ve taken your night time insulin and then want something to eat during the night, is it safe to do day/fast acting insulin after you’ve done your night one? Because last time I did that I threw up but the diabetic team didn’t really think much of it.
@jameskarr55503 жыл бұрын
It depends lots for factors come into play. Your question isn’t a just Yes or No.
@Kakalya593 жыл бұрын
I find that right after my long lasting night injection my sugars will drop much quicker with fast acting insulin if used soon after, so inject a slight smaller dose for the food

How come you have to count carbs? I don’t have diabetes but I count protein because I believe protein is more important then carbs.
@TD5LUFC3 жыл бұрын
it doesn't matter what is more 'important', I wouldn't say protein is more important than carbs, I would say they both matter equally, the reason is glucose has carbohydrates in it
@S9999Frank3 жыл бұрын
you have tp count carbs because carbs raise your blood sugar, and the two inputs of carbs and insulin have to be in balance. So with the pancreas not producing insulin, a diabetic1 person needs to know the number of carbs eaten, to balance them with insulin injections.
@InspirationEmPire253 жыл бұрын
@@S9999Frank interesting.
@hoyoversekindasucks3 жыл бұрын
The carbs increase blood Sugars, to parallel this we use insulin so we have to use a ratio to figure out how much insulin we need. This helps us keep our blood sugar in range so we don't die! :D

erin louise last name We think you might have unfortunately. Well done on spotting which student hall it was filmed in - very eagle eyed of you. Regarding the fridge Connor (who's room it was), needs to keep his insulin in a fridge so therefore Glasgow uni has made accommodations for this. +Ahmad Ahmad I can't stand the misunderstanding between type 1 and type 2 either, but type 2 is not cured. If it was cured it wouldn't be around and we wouldn't be confused for having it.
@AhmadAhmad-oy2yz9 жыл бұрын
+Reck ed dear reck type 2 diabetes is surely cured through a very easy operation that doesn't take more than 30 minutes. This operation is related to the stomach. when this operation is done type 2 diabetes will be totally cured. And when I say type 2 diabetes I mean the one that relies on pills not injections ( insulin)
@Recken19 жыл бұрын
+Ahmad Ahmad If that was true everyone with type 2 would have this operation and there wouldn't be metformin and other type 2 drugs. It's not cured.
@AhmadAhmad-oy2yz9 жыл бұрын
+Reck ed go to any doctor who is specialized in diabetes and you may ask him about this .... And you will know the truth ... If this cure was known by everyone ,hospitals will suffer from long waiting lists of patients who want to have this operation.

Type 1 diabetes is often misunderstood as a result of overeating sugary snacks, but it is actually an immune disease unrelated to diet. People with type 1 diabetes can eat anything a non-diabetic can eat and should not be ridiculed for their food choices. Let's dispel these misconceptions and offer support and understanding instead.
