Hi @TheTennisMentor thanks for featuring me and an even bigger thanks for the tips. I had no idea my grip was incorrect. Definitely something I'll work on. A thousand thank yous 🎾🎾🎾

Thanks again for sending it in! The grip change will be difficult, so make it gradual. You’ll find that it makes you slice everything at first, that will be a sign that you’re on track! Please keep in touch to let me know how it goes!
@barrywatton3531Ай бұрын
@@TheTennisMentor yep, if I have understood directly once I am also pronating correctly that will then dial out the slice effect for a nice flat serve. Thanks again.

You move like a good player. Also the fact that you grip loose on serve supports that. As a help to get your brain used to the continental I recommend bouncing and catching exercises with that grip in addition. Did it for me many years ago and I became a coach later while being completely self taught. To make it stick on the serve l recommend 2 to 3 times serve training a week 15 to 30 minutes for a while. Most people that don’t get it just have too little frequency when trying to change. You must be able to get a second serve in with that grip and that is actually easier than before once you got it.

Ashley you legend. I listened to this before my doubles session today and was hitting serves like I've never hit before ! I'd been standing more straight on , so today I tried standing more side on and firing the hips through and it was amazing. Thank you 👊

Changing to a platform stance really helped me to push off my back foot. Total game changer in terms of spin, control and consistency. Still working on power. This guy is spot on

Loading most of my weight on my right leg added so much speed to my serves. It also made my tosses more consistent which I wasn't expecting. Thank you for the video!

Hip drive forcing the racket head to drop is a good point. Interestingly enough with the sock drill it drops before the hip drive. Please watch frame by frame to see what I mean.
@The4.0GuyАй бұрын
Yeah i think the sock thing can help to smooth out a hitch in your arm motion but its not great for the hip drive stuff because there is no time. If you you serve with the sock motion you need to use a low toss
@TheTennisMentorАй бұрын
Yes, good point. It’s great for loosening up and smoothening out the swing, the sock itself is ‘floppier’ than a racket so does drop before the racket would!

As you mentioned correct thing - I got the same mistake and I’m visual learner. Rocket drop have to be natural consequence of body motion not the separate thing you need to think about all the time

Thanks to my dog 🐶 i'm serving much better. I always ask to my players if they have a dog, best serve practice partner 😜. Nice content. Keep up the good job. My strugle now is consistency (still can't get 100 shots from bulletproof) and shot selection.
@TheTennisMentorАй бұрын
You’re right about throwing for your dog!! Keep going with the bulletproof drills. There are no shortcuts, the act of practicing is building consistency, even if it doesn’t feel like it, you’re getting there!
