This remmember me when I assembled a maple barrel with aluminum long handle Epoxy glue and 2 screws it had a powerfull speed at swing but ilegal😂

I tested a dozen previously broken bats last night at team work out. I intentionally added 1 bat from a barrel of bats. It was ash. It had 3 dowels below the label. Facing 70 mph straight bp. Everyone heard it on the 2nd hit. Crackkkkk. I smiled thought to myself how is Adam doing. So now I am going to drill out those 3 dowels. Repair it again and leave it with 3 holes to see how it performs. Keep ya posted. Peace & 2 swam fastballs.

Adam it's all about the face vs the edge. Imagine a deck of cards. Which is stronger the face or the edge? Ash bats are used Label Up. At The point of contact if your hands are correct palm up palm down the bat hits the ball on its edge. With the introduction of maple in Birch that has since changed the label has been rolled that's our ink dotted and they're designed to be hit on the face that Mizuno was hit with its label rolled over and it broke at its weakest point. It truly is an art and takes a lot of discipline to hit with wooden bats just watch the pros.

Nice, I'll have to do this with my favorite bat which unfortunately broke, also what is that white stuff you used? Wood glue? If so what brand?

Wookie Productions - It’s wood filler, the specific stuff I used is“Plastic Wood” made by DAP but any wood filler would due. Also, I should note that the bat did eventually break. I made an update video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p4DLd6qshNZ0pMU

Thats a fungo bat, its not used in games. The dowels will be its un-doing. nice effort

Hello Adam please don't take offense I thought you did a good job but I thought the same thing when I first started repairing bats of course mine are used in game situations the problem with the dowel is that it goes against the grain and it creates a point for your repair to separate even fungo bats will flex I've repaired over 1000 wood bats maples Birch Ash the dowel never held up again you did a great job but if that that were to hit an 85 mph fastball it would come apart and you're right some of the glues keep up the good work today are better than the original wood I've never had a bat break on a repair joint but I have that exact same fungo mine didn't break into pieces keep up the good work

Coach K so should bats be repaired at all? In your experience. Cause I recently repaired one following this vid and I used it on game day and it felt good.

for young players and those in HS, yes 100% yes, if they roll their wrists and a ASH bat breaks with the grain, I look at those as a brand new bat, its not the kids fault he broke it, its the Coaches out there who aren't bothering to teach them how to use it. Remember, ASH, vs Birch vs Maple they don't break the same way and aren't used the same way. Depending on who makes the bat, hell they can't even agree. Which is why for my money the ASH bat is still the best choice for young hitters learning to use wood bats. I may put up my video collection of how to, but to be honest, nobody can repair a bat like I can. That's a fact Jack!

Not sure what you mean? I think it’s all pretty obvious... wood glue, some dowels, wood filler, and spray paint.

It actually helped up pretty good, did eventually break but IIRC they (kids) were trying to break it. There is a follow up video where I show it broken.
