I am old, barely getting by, but I do pray for help for you and all affected by thid devastating thing. I never ever imagined a hurricane could affect us so far from the coast. I am so, so sorry for your loss. My heart breaks that our government would turn their backs on the very people they swear to protect!!! So sad what we are having to face now.

My momma made steak and gravy a LOT! I have only made it a handful of times myself. She cooked it in an iron skillet. I'm gonna try it in the slow cooker.

Yum! Dinner looked delicious. Scratch art was always a favorite activity when my boys were little. To get fresh air we would go to our cemetery and collect acorns. The cemetery was full of oak trees but our home didn’t have a single one. The squirrels loved our yard! ✌️❤️

Oh my, that cube steak looks SO good !! My husbands favorite too, and I haven't fixed it for a while. Better do that!! And Leslie, you look thin. Is it just willpower?? I don't seem to have that!! (and need to lose 100 pounds, but I'd be happy with 50!!) I'm so glad the storms have mostly missed you and pray the next storms will miss all of that part of the country. Prayers for all.

My mom would make and fry cube steaks and would make just plain milk gravy, but there was one time she made swiss steak and made brown gravy and cooked it all together in her roaster for the members of our local Lions Club, she made mashed potatoes and green beans, dinner rolls and home made butterscotch pie for desert.

My father-in-law used to make those "turners" back in the 80's when he was still with us and called them Pig tails. I still have a couple of them and think of him every time they are used. Thanks for the memory!

Happy Monday... I know your meal for the family will be marvelous.... You look great ala natural... Many prayers to all in North Carolina and everyone that is in its path... I'm cook my cube steak the same way flour and a grease of some kind .... I do season a bit more than salt and pepper.... There is really no recipe just basically a technique. All I used was the Cubed steak, self rising flour, Seasoning of choice and a liquid to make the gravy.
