I would be tempted to use an old thermal limit switch from a furnace.

@@robertlane6675 yeah I actually thought about that too. You could take an old rollout switch with a manual reset, as long as it has a similar trip temperature.

Is it possible the machine was in a place where there was not adequate airflow? If it was in a corner, it might not be able to draw in enough air.

most common problem with istant pot. simple cheap safety.

those one shot thermal cutouts die all the time and lots of appliances get thrown out unnecessarily. manufacturers are cheap using them instead of manual reset limits.
