Fixing a HAMA Bluetooth Speaker [or how not to use a PD Trigger]

I left the configuration jumpers BOTH open - and it seems for this trigger at least, it leaves some inputs floating (unstable) ah well :(

ferrite core - helps with signal integrity they had them on both ends of VGA cables for example - that's what those big lumps are

Looks like you fed it over 14 volts on a 5 volt rail... What was the voltage set on that module? What was the battery pack voltage? Amazon US has those chips for 2 dollars.

It went to 14v in PD charge mode rather than the usual 5v of standard USB.

The modules I have seen like that have a set fixed voltage. He even mentioned this at one point but he never said what these are set at. It was around 11:18

@@oldman1944 doubt it. He fed over 14 volts to the thing bc the jumpers are set to 14 volts.

Oh I didn't see the jumpers were set, I got the impression that no jumpers were installed and it was at 5v. Damp sweaty fingers could be 500k on those close pads, probably enough to change the pin inputs.

So you snipped like 6 wires and then only connected 2 to the new USB-C output, is there a chance that it was sending too much juice through just the 2 wires instead of the 6? ( I know dick about this stuff)

The other 4 wires were for the usb powerbank / usb Stick play Mode.

yeah .. I also don't think the rest were doing power delivery some were for the output, one or more were the reset ... still a damn shame it blew up :(
