Hey thanks. Great video even if you are doing it alone. Explanations were great. No wasted time on useless stuff. You focused on the relevant aspects and got it right. I have a 32 inch Aquos lying in the basement with the same problem. Hopefully get it going soon.

I have a 50 inch Aquos that died last night, opened it up and tested the only fuse I saw on the circuit power board, it had continuity with the multimeter. They hard wired where the other fuse is supposed to be, it has continuity too. Oh well. I guess it's something else, I was hoping the slow burn fuse was the issue and that it was a matter of having the clip in fuses rather than soldered fuse holder connection. Symptoms, turned the tv on to watch an p;d school DVD style movie and then the power dropped to a blank screen, dead to the world, so it wasn't the fuse blowing from an excessive wall power surge. All capacitors have continuity on the power board as well. None of the boards show a burned circuit board and other resistors aren't discolored to me visually. I was thinking it might be a burned out infrared standby sensor that probably needs to be connected to complete the circuit ? Or even the hard switch for power on/off, volume & channel & whatever menu controls that can be done without the remote. A bad switch there would disrupt a circuit that might also need to be completed and in line. Could be an IC, processor or memory chip that died that also disrupts the flow of the TV as a complete unit, who knows ? I guess I'm at chasing cheaper parts for the manual control, the IR standby/power board & then the power board or anything else inside it. Out of warranty, sending it to a service center might be the expensive solution vs a disposable 50 inch tv that's probably at least a decade old. Was an inheritance when Dad passed away. not sure when he bought it, history is he was in FL, moved to NC for about 9-10 years, Mom passed away, he moved back to FL 8-9 years ago and passed away himself 4 years ago. Rarely use the TV beyond the DVD movies really and those nights are rare over the last 3 years I've had it. I'll look at the serial number & hope there's a clue to date this pristine, well cared for tv unit. Just don't want to throw away a solid tv for good parts over as much as a $ 150 power board. But I don't have any way of testing the screen now.

MY tv light is red, but when you push the power button it doesn't work. Any idea what it could be?

Just curious why you set the DVM to ohms to check voltage? Surprised the meter didn't fry. On a side note, they're ceramic fuses not capacitors...

I have a Sharp 80” LC-80LE632U that has half of the screen has a great shadow over the entire right side. I can barely see an image below it. If you know what part this is or how to fix it I would appreciate it. Matt

By no means am I a technician, but I've seen them disconnect the wire strips and then connect one side at a time. It usually narrows down to which side has the problem according to the video s I saw. You leave the one that is giving you the issue disconnected and block off so it doesn't make contact and sometimes that works. Try at your own risk. Like I said not a technician, but will be doing that to my unit .

Thank you for sharing this video. I have the same television model with the TV not powering on and no red light. I hope the fuse is the only reason my TV stopped working, else I may sell for parts.

When you use the meter, does the tv have to be turned on?

And I did realize after the fact that at 10:22 I had the switch on my multi meter backwards, it was measuring resistance, not AC Voltage! Facepalm!

I recently have become an owner of this TV for the same reason: one day it stopped working..i want it gone..you can have it. I am confident enough to fix it myself. I'm about to buy the fuses. I see 5A and a 6.3A but with the pigtails already on them. Do you think it will be OK to use the 6.3A or only use the 5A? Thx!

It's a through hole fuse, so you have to unsolder it, or snip the legs.
