Mine sounds exactly like yours at the end it revs up like crazy on startup which is so weird

thank you for this, every place i went to wanted me to buy a kit. also, I'm replacing my air filter box and the son of a gun wont fit. Did you have the same problem? there arent many GS500F owners still out there so i was hoping you could give some insight. Id love to exchange personal info since you seem pretty knowledgeable.

You probably got by now, but if you put the airbox on the carbs first, then put the carb-airbox assembly on the engine it is easier

Old post but but I had to unbolt the petcock for some reason my air box kept barley hitting it making it sit higher.

what are those bolts that you used to put the carbs back together with mine are old and brittle and easy to strip

What would cause oil spew out of the left carb on the gs500?
