Best diagnostic I have seen yet on my problem! Spent $1200 at a local shop that pulled and replaced parts from under the hood which did not fix anything, only to have them tell me they don’t deal with dash issues. Seriously.

Thanks so much. I did it! One thing, make sure you put the metal housing back right way up!! Otherwise you have to take it apart again for you'll not be able to put the screws back.

Just fixed mine thanks but if you bend the tabs up and raise up the connector tabs up a little you can use needle nose pliers to pry the silnoid and O ring out without taking the whole thing apart.

Worked!...Side Note:: Don't just assume it works with key turned, you have to start the ignition for it to take effect....was still just blowing out defrost until it reset when i started the car....Thanx!

I did it but I didn't have o-rings. I used Teflon and wrapped it around the existing o-rings and it actually worked! Thanks for the video!

Also my cluster panel lights go out for speedometer but it's center 30 to 100 sometimes n then sometimes it's 0 to 30 and 100 to 120. I'm think it's a short but if u know anything about that as well ease let me know

I have a similar problem with my digital dash. Did u figure it out? Some GMq's had a recall for the LCM, which can cause these kinds of issues.

It’s winter and I get either cold air or super hot-- nothing in between. I noticed the outside temp button showed 127F. I pull the sensor out of its plug (sits in front of radiator) and reseated it. Now I get full control. But the outdoor temp is going back to 120 every once in awhile. Can that sensor cause my problem ?

I replaced the sensor, and now it accurately reports outside temp. I still have my problem. I’m guessing it’s the actuators on the control board. I know the door itself works it’s just not getting the proper signal

The original O-rings that came with the car are outdated. They are made of silicone, and silicone isn't the strongest O -Ring. They are prone to tearing and failing prematurely. My advice is, buy the one's that are "nitrile." I know that Harbor Frieght carries a set of 205 pcs. They are all different sizes, but comes with the size you'll need for your panther platform. It's the F1014x labeled in the box. The item number is 67644. . The box will say, "HNBR O-Ring Assortment. HNBR stands for "hydrogenated nitrile butadiene rubber," which is far superior to silicone and withstanding extreme temps. So when you look for new O-Rings, don't buy the silicone ones, get the HNBR ones. If you don't live in an area where there is a Harbor Frieght then check out their website.

I replaced the o rings w the ones from Harbor Freight as mentioned below. The new Harbor Frt O rings are .5mm bigger however and so I had to use a little force to re-insert the little pistons. The a/c does now come out of the forward facing vents, but only while in Park. As soon as I shift into Drive, I hear something actuate and it goes right back to blowing out of the Dash Vent Only. This would indicate to me some sort of additional issue, possibly electrical?? , or could it be a Vacuum issue? thanks anyone please

Thanks for the video. I did the rebuild, but with a single O-ring per tube. Vent works perfectly. On "floor" I get some bleed air out the defrost, and vice versa on "defrost." I do hear the doors moving.

Most cars seem to bleed a little air out the defrost when things are set to "floor"- I think it's just to make sure the windshield stays clear.

I live in Florida n even though it's November no ac was still sucking plus I work bar at night so that meant no defrost at 3am in the morning n driving with windows down and a napkin trying to clear my fogged up windshield. Seriously bro thank u so much. I wish I could of sent u more 💯 Mad respect n love for the proper reset, not sure why the other's videos said the blue temp button but as soon as I did defrost like u said everything on the control module lit up n I knew it was a true reset n before I finished commenting the blower came back n I had ac n I was like fk it I'ma send u what I can spare cuz u truly saved me pulling this thing apart right now. But what I don’t understand is after you bend the metal tabs up then you pulled the whole metal housing off and took it all apart. Why would you waste all that time? You just bend the metal tabs up and just pull the shaft out that has the O-ring on it replaced the ordering. It just said it right back in there bend the tabs down. You don’t have to take it all apart that far just to do something simple basically just wasting time and doing more work than you need to.
