That’s awesome man! I like the evo 10’s and wouldn’t mind having one one day! But evo 8 will always be my dream car! They just look amazing! I had a silver 05 gsr and it was the best driving car I ever had or have driven! Handled like a go cart! Keep up the great content!

EVO 8 will always be my dream car and a car I will always have in my garage no matter what! I agree with you 1000000% it drives more like a go kart and the evo 10 is more of a street car! But both are amazing!!!

Great vid! and you are right the sst is massively underrated. It gets put down by people that have only heard the bad but never driven it and realized the good. Also with upgraded clutches it can handle just as much power as the gsr but shifts infinitely faster. Price of upgrading it is alot cheaper than it used to be and there is so much more tuning knowledge out there now.

The reason the wheel is not centered is the top bolt on the strut. There is an arrow on the top bolt and that should be pointed towards the engine. Make sure the arrow on the top bolt is pointed to the engine on both sides.
@jeremysteinacker4889 Жыл бұрын
glad you got those codes gone. The reason the sst doesn't get more love is because evo owners are broke. Building my sst for 700whp cost almost 14k. They also just arent great when it comes to launching or holding power. you can add more clutches but there is only so much room in the clutch basket so more clutches equals less life. The record holding car makes 960whp on 18 plate clutches that need to be replaced monthly. The actual gears in the trans are just as strong as the gsr though.
@ChrisGoorbarry Жыл бұрын
Sheeeeesh! 960hp on a SST is fireeeee! I'm sure the torque is low to keep it happy but I need to see that! I will look into it!

You could just upgrade your clutches, like you would a clutch on the GSR. 🤷♂️
@tonymasters667 Жыл бұрын
@@grpAfactory Yeah agree. A company here charge £3000 for a 500/550hp rated upgrade which I’d be happy with.
@shad3128 Жыл бұрын
@evo_robbie_oh it's not easy to swap the clutches on the SST. Once it's out, you're better off doing the shift fork mods and building the rest of the Trans up so it'll last longer without taking a crap once the clutches are upgraded and something else breaks
@grpAfactory Жыл бұрын
@@shad3128 I don't agree. It's not hard to remove the clutches. Also, the only real thing it needs internally is the fork if the glue degrades, likely because longterm overheating. The gears are already stout asf. And as long as the mech is functioning correctly as well. Why bother.

It is 1000% maintenance and people being cheap/lazy with the trans.. stock fluid changes every 10k/trans learn. I'm making 600wheel on my mostly stock trans 40k miles no issues. Watched a lot of Jackson Strain's content about driving habits and trans teaching
@ChrisGoorbarry Жыл бұрын
This is great to hear! I am just learning about the trans teaching stuff! Which I need to do!!! If you have any advice or input it would be greatly appreciated!
@Oomlie Жыл бұрын
@@ChrisGoorbarry no worries! Always happy to help what Ive spent years learning, ignore the haters the trans knowledge has came a long way. Sadly while you had the trans out/if you could have afforded it, upgrading the clutch packs/basket is ideal. ALWAYS use stock Diaqueen Mitsu fluid every change, drain the trans cooler as well each change. I do 10k~ street miles/relearn. If you track the car its recommended to change the fluid after each day~ymmv. If you can find it, load the new trans unlock tune from evo scan it offers tons of quality of life. Kosmic is the go-to for any builds/obscure questions and they always help me out with info. Since your east coast, Chris Carbee or Chris Hoover of Moore Automotive are the best for tuning fairly unanimously among the community
@shad3128 Жыл бұрын
As long as the TQ is lower than 400 it'll be safe. Your Trans is also young. The shift forks and other issues get very common around 60k+ on the odometer. I had mine fully built by Kozmic for 500+ hp and only use diaqueen and from time to time you'll still het some clutch slip and issues. It's a good gearbox, but it's far from great. It was a very weak dual clutch when compared to others. I think Mitsubishi didn't think it would really sell or be around long so they didn't go the extra mile on it.
@igornikolic1819 Жыл бұрын
Hey man! You should still bleed the AYC system as you lost fluid and the pump will struggle to keep pressure and they are not cheap ! Also you should do a trans teach in. Let me know if you need any help with it
