Order a B&W turn over gooseneck, they are bolt on. I just put one on my 06 F350 King Ranch and it took me 1 hour to install. I ordered mine off eBay and it was $300 cheaper and was brand new.

I love the BW hitches. I've had one in a 250 and 350. Both were new enough trucks that the beds actually had a dimple at the point where you center up to drill the 4inch hole. Using these hitches allowed me to use my 5th wheel companion hitch in either of my trucks.

The one thing I would recommend to keep the bed from rusting out would be to install some inner fender liners. Best thing I did for my truck. Nice looking truck.

Good looking pickup should last you many years to come. I picked up both of mine as projects and so far they have treated me rather well. I have been under the impression the failure of the blower motor resistor in that era of GM pickup's isn't unheard of. I personally have replaced one in a 2002 Silverado and our JD 6310. As for mudflaps I have a 2012 F-250 with factory mudflaps, they seem to do a nice job of keeping debris off the side of the truck. I also have a 2003 F-150 without mudflaps, it's always noticeably dirtier than the F-250. I 100% recommend tow mirrors, my F-250 has factory tow mirrors. I also don't do a lot of towing but it's nice being able to use the convex mirror to see my rear tires and a wider view to the rear is nice to see what's going on beside your vehicle. Nice full set of wrenches!

I’ve got a 2000 gmc 1500 4x4 with 358,00mi on it, I’ve had to replace that resistor twice so far. Now it’s getting a new transmission. This era of truck are great runners. I’m a full time carpenter and part time farmer. I have used B&W goose neck ball set ups on all my big trucks in the past. I’ve been told the Curt kits a good as well, but never tried one. I mostly use Rapid Hitch as all my trailers currently are bumper pull. Aluminum Tank Industries is the brand of fuel tanks I use coupled with a Fillrite pump. I’m current using Weather Guard tool box in my truck, but ProTech make a great tool box as well, both options are pricey. I’ve used just about every cheap tool box brand out there and on only get a year or two before they start to tear apart. I keep my tool in a Montezuma wedge box. They are ok for the price, they all seem to be rather disposable anymore.

That blower motor resistor is a common failure point on a lot of the GM trucks and SUV’s. Mine crapped out, delt with it for a while with only first 3 speeds until one day it all went out.

I have a 2002 Chev 2500 HD...likely set up similar to yours. Bought used in 2015. Has been a good workhorse, has 124,000 miles. Body/bed showing their age but for only putting 1,000 miles a year on it hard to justify putting big $ into a newer truck. Really like the 6.0 engine...plenty of torque for pulling 200 bu wagons.

When they started putting coil springs on the front of 3/4 and ton trucks, they stopped making TRUCKS! 😂 I liked my old '87 K30, and didn't care how it rode. Hoping to give it a second life with a 12v Cummins swap from a '96 Dog. Couldn't keep front end together on the Dodge. Great video, and reostats are a pain to figure out what the problem is.

If you had to do the brake lines, do the fuel lines. I had to replace the fuel pump and disturbing the lines sent rust particles into the injectors. My 1500 came with no fuel filter to catch the rust, just a bad design! If they look sketchy at all pull them. I'm no mechanic but that was my headache.

I would do everything in my power to keep any truck Chevy, Ford or Dodge from this era and older in the best possible condition. New trucks are overloaded with electronics and way over priced. The diesel trucks emissions lower the milage and are much more expensive to maintain. Trucks in the future will be EV useless plastic garbage. My 1999 Dodge trucks heater fan operated the same way with an external resistor. When the resistor gos bad it's a good indicator that the fan motor is going bad. You might want to change the fan too otherwise your resistor may have a short life.
