It boggles the mind that the "getting to know Padmé's family" stuff ended up on the cutting room floor originally... it's so central to their relationship working, or at least, appearing to work.

I've been thinking about this movie a bit over the past 5 months of quarantine and I'm glad to see that someone else feels the same way! I was 9 when AOTC was in theaters and even at that age I knew that this was not how romance worked. If only we could fix the romance, the relationship between Anakin and Padme would have worked and the movie wouldn't be cringe in places. By chance you ever do miraculously get Hayden and Natalie to rework these scenes, I'd pay money for that content.

Dude, honestly I’d love to see if you thought about reworking Padmes death in episode 3 once your done with this series.I think they could’ve made the death more heartbreaking (No pun intended) if it was physically Anakin who had killed Padmé instead of from a “broken heart” I know it can actually happen to people but when I look at Padmé I just don’t see as something that would happen to her if he had only turned so recently.Overall, great video!
@nixnightbird1383 жыл бұрын
GODDAMMIT. THE MOVIE DOES NOT SAY SHE DIED OF A BROKEN HEART!!!!!!! She says "you're breaking my heart" almost an HOUR before her death on screen. What the droids say is "Medically, she's completely healthy, but for reasons we can't explain, we are losing her." Obi-Wan: "She's dying!?" Droid: "We don't know why. She's lost the will to live." What's happening in this scene: The droids DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE FORCE because they're medical droids. As we see in the intercut scenes, Sidious is saving Lord Vader's life, even as Padme is dying. As Padme's life slips away, Vader's life force grows. THIS IS BECAUSE, AS HE FORESHADOWED EARLIER, SIDIOUS IS USING VADER'S CONNECTION TO PADME TO STEAL HER LIFE FORCE AND USE IT TO SAVE VADER. When Padme takes her last breath, we next see Vader take his first breath in the mask. THIS was the secret to stopping people from dying using the Force. The Sith have to STEAL the life force of someone with a strong connection, killing the one to save the other. The droids NEVER say "she's dying of a broken heart" - What they say is that "WE DON'T KNOW WHY" and "FOR REASONS WE CAN'T EXPLAIN" because The Force-- especially this ancient, rarely-seen Sith technique-- is not in medical droids' databases. They don't know what's going on. They're unable to explain it. They venture an educated guess: "She's lost the will to live" because it's all they have. It's the closest thing to an explanation they can muster, and it's proven wrong when we see Padme talking to Obi-Wan, fighting to stay alive to see her children and tell Obi-Wan there's good in Anakin. She hasn't "lost the will to live" -- She's BEING KILLED BY SIDIOUS.

The issue I have with Anakin confessing to Padme about killing all the Tusken Raiders, along with the women and children scene is that Padme seems to be okay with this, in fact, her reaction is just vacuous blank expression on her face and then tells him that "To be angry is to be human", but by Revenge of the Sith when she learns that he has killed Jedi younglings, she flips her shit and says, "I don't know you anymore!". Really? He's killed women and children before, that's nothing new but by this point, she makes the exception for Jedi younglings. Why? This proves Padme is a stupid and inconsistent character. Personally, Attack of the Clones is just as unsalvageable as The Phantom Menace". I am working on my own fan edit of Attack of the Clones and it begins with the last part of the battle with Dooku and his followers and then it leads right into Revenge of the Sith. Speaking of which, I'm looking forward to how you will fix that one! 😉

I just saw a supposed cut of yours. Where in the intro do you explain the extreme situation that the Jedi are living, since they are overwhelmed? Because that is the main point of the whole movie, the formation of an army to help them, because they are over saturated and you change it for an unnecessary text about the force, and you even explain that Dooku was an old Jedi, unnecessary thing because later that information is given to us by KiAdi Mundi. This plot is fundamental, since it is what will ultimately serve the Chancellor to become an emperor and end the Jedi order. Your great arrangement, is based on mutilating Anakin's phrases, which for understood ears, are not bad phrases, since they give us a lot of context of the character, such as not being able to overcome his past as a slave (the metaphor of the sand) or his inability to deal with his feelings. Without that basis, the character is not understood. That in the end is what happens to a lot, you don't understand it. And the funniest thing is that you allow yourself the luxury of "fixing", something for which you have no level. Are you going to give Lucas lessons? Hilarious. I grant you one thing, yes, bringing back the scene at Padme's house and maybe swapping the picnic scene with the lake scene might be fine. But the end result is not fluid, and the bad assembly is perceived. In the end, it's just another one of those pretentious and ridiculous cuts.

Huh? Caleb's crawl mentions disarray in the Republic and growing Separatist revolt! Also, the official crawl describes Count Dooku as “mysterious” . How can Dooku be mysterious if he was a member of the Jedi Order? This crawl is way better.

How does this work? You can't release any of your work, because if you did, LucasFilm would wind up owning your first born. So, what is happening here? You do all this work, then you show the finished product to your mom and dad? I respect and admire all the good work you have done, but it seems less than fulfilling to me.

Pair this with that fan-made SC 38 scene of an ACTUAL fight between Darth Vader & Obi Wan in A New Hope, and you have yourself a respectful cinema saga.
