Fixing Brother DCP-9020CDW Waste Toner Box

My duty printer Brother DCP 9020DCW showed a error message that the waste toner box is full and stopped printing. This is a simple, effective but temporary fix, you need to bye a new one Waste Toner Box.

I had the sampe problem as you and tried everything, in the end the only thing that worked: was to take offf the roller an wash it. this allowed the machine to read the resistance properly.

Thanks so much for doing this video. I missed you emptying the tray. Do you remove these small items to trick the machine.? So it thinks you actually brought a new ink tray?

In my case the problem was with the logical part of the motherboard for the tray/toner. In some cases it works. It tricks the system. My is a completely different animal

2:12 where is your switch? That switch is supposed to keep the contacts together (when the toner is full it unlatches) so if you remove the tab as you suggest, you cause the error message!

True! But in my case the logical bit of the motherboard circuit was starting to give up. So whatever i did was/wasn't causing to fix or break even more. :)

I did send the printer in a authorised Brother service shop and the logic board gave up forever. The other bits are working normally.

hahaha proper review and proper fixing :D mine as well will get similar treatment, fucking rubbish with irreplaceable parts. Just imagine: - you buy this fucking printer, you print some pages, it works - suddenly you get stains fuck knows from where... - you identify that its a fuser... and you cannot order because of fucking shortages... so all of this goes to rubbish... perfect planet saver technology.

The problem of mine was much more deep than you think. After replacing every belt drive, tray drive...rubbish a FEW times, (you get some of the money back) then realise it's actually time to call the PROFESIONALS . -Google some professionals -find several - hear the cheaper quotes - spend some money - proo's show up - diagnose the bastard and find that the LOGICAL part of the brain on the tray drive unit has died... :( :( :( That's what causing the problem. So, replacing the Locical-thing-of-a-kind cost as much as buying the same printer new/refurbished. Mean while, a different, but new brand was ordered and delivered. Also used while this drama was happening.
