Thank you for this helpful viedeo. I am no technical genius, but I was able to change the fuser of my printer, while your guidence on my computer beside in about 20 minutes. My problem was to remove the little switch on the left side, so I cut the two cables of the old fuser; this made it easier ... regards from Austria

Excellent video - a great help! Thanks. The only fiddly part I found when replacing the roller at the very end. It was easier to put the plastic guard on the right hand side into place before inserting the roller. Insert the left hand nodule of the roller into its slot/hole, then using light pressure, slide the right hand nodule along the groove in the guard until it slips into its guide.

Hi John, what made you change the fuser unit? I’m having a paper jam and a burnt yellow mark about 1/3rd down on the page. The error on the printer says remove the drum and cartridge units to get the paper out but the paper is actually sticking out from the back and needs to be pulled out. Thanks for your help.

Thank you, this made a fiddly job easier. A couple of times the camera angle could have been altered to get a better view but I got it. Appreciate the help

I agree. Take particular care when removing the two small connectors on the right (Eject sensor PCB). Each male connector (on the PCB) is soldered with tiny pads underneath the PCB. In my case, and despite my precautions, I created a break between one of the 4 pads (2 per connector) and the PCB track. This caused me a lot of problems and I had to repair the break (very difficult to do from the back of the machine). The rule: don't force anything; remove and replace the connectors as gently as possible!!!!

Is the fuser unit and the drum unit the same thing?

No. The drum unit is a separate consumable for this machine. The EU/UK code is DR-241CL.

I have replaced the unit. But the screen is still showing replace fuser unit. Parts life is showing as 0%. Anyone know how I reset please.

You could really have done a better job describing how to get those plugs out on the right. I used a little screwdriver, put it in the middle, and managed to pull the entire socket off the circuit board. Grr...Trying to fix it right now. Not your fault, I know, but it's not obvious how to unplug those things, and they can be tight. Remove with care. Another video has a guy removing them by pulling on the wires. Not really recommended (you could break a wire/connection), but it worked.
