Don’t worry too much. In the UK they don’t celebrate Thanksgiving and in Canada Thanksgiving is in October. It’s all about how you think about it. Some people don’t have a young son or a son at all, so really in my mind you are highly blessed, so just let your mind understand that you ARE highly blessed and this holiday and even 🕰 time is social constructed. Construct your own happiness and reframe your beliefs to reflect the opposite of loneliness. We are never alone. Your ansctors and Angels are always with you. And you having YOU is the best company anyone could ask for. I’m my own best friend and my best friend is extremely funny, lovable, smart, and always has me feeling accepted and entertained. Good day to you, your best friend, and your son, may you transform and redefine your experience of loneliness, for loneliness is just your imagination challenging you to dig deep to discover yourself 😊.

Hi Lone Fox Family! We watched the video with family yesterday at my aunt's place for Thanksgiving! We loved all the thought and care Drew put into every aspect of the living room, kitchen, dining area, and breakfast nook. The popcorn ceiling removal alone was crazy to see since we weren't in the home for the aftermath. I can't imagine having done this ourselves with an abatement team, only to find out we have to reapply material in order to have it painted on! That is a cost we would not even be ready for, most likely we'd have to live with that ceiling for a few weeks before we could put together the money to repair it for painting. Everything in the living room and play room space is easily adjustable so we can create a safe space for Julia during the day and rearrange it quickly for guests. We have gates of our own and Drew was kind enough to inform us he ordered additional gates for our daughter to safely play around in the corner. I work from home and my job isn't too intensive, so it's easy for me to set my laptop in the play place with Julia while she has fun with her toys while being supervised. My wife and I are so humbled to be a part of this process! Every single time we will look at that beautiful mural we'll always say to one another "Can you believe Drew and Justin put that together?" and when we are just chatting and eating breakfast at our little nook, we can admire the fixture Drew went out of his way to create for us, especially in the evenings when we're just sitting there sipping on hot chocolate with the light on. Jennifer actually was in the process of staining the kitchen cabinets a similar color to what Drew was doing. She worked on a small area of one of the cabinets just to see if she was doing it correctly and took a break. The next day before she was going to resume work, we actually found out that Drew selected us for the makeover! So we are happy with the choice Drew selected for the cabinets since it matched the color we were going for. We can't wait to see what you have in store for the rooms! I'm of course super excited to see how you went about the office/guest bedroom since it will be my primary space for working, especially once Julia goes to preschool (for now I just work inside of the play pen)! I remember asking you to do something special for Jennifer in regards to the vanity, she's been without one for ten years and I loved that our master bedroom had a space for a proper vanity for her. She really deserves a relaxing space to get ready, I know you'll make it extra special for her! We can't wait for Episode 3 Drew, I need to figure out a way to save these videos on my hard drive! I guess we need to subscribe to KZbin premium? Thanks for watching the video Lone Fox Family and we appreciate and have read all the comments!

I loved how Drew was saying kid friendly on things and then added in things that I was going, oh no, not kid friendly. LOL BUT I thought hey those things look easy enough for mom and dad to move to another area or teach their precious angel not to climb or knock over things. It is what we have to do on lots of things, so I thought meh, no biggie, the design is looking beautiful. Also, glad to know Drew did order gates to keep baby safe. I feel he is so thoughtful on things like that. You and your lovely bride seem to be very deserving of this and I am happy you were chosen. Congrats on the home, baby and makeover! Hi Drew, I can’t compare myself to your ability, and I love most of what you’ve done but I’m not in love with the kitchen. I don’t like the uneven stain on the cabinets and I think it looks too dark especially with the darker tile. Otherwise, I love some of the free finds you incorporated in this makeover! I especially like the mirror and how perfectly it goes with the entry table. Can’t wait to see the finished look!! Looking forward to number three! Happy Thanksgiving!!
@ellent22462 жыл бұрын
I agree very dark with both cabinets and tile counter tops plus they are hard to clean...grout with food!
@lemongivesulife2 жыл бұрын
Agreed, I was hoping he would just paint them white or at least a lighter colour and use nice subtle hardware. The pattern of the wood is kinda ugly in my opinion and there’s already so much interest with that really cool countertop so I think having two very contrasting patterns is never going to work. But making them dark and adding dark hardware was not a good move, especially with the uneven staining. It just looks out of place, especially when the owners asked for light and breezy type of decor.
@NightSkyish2 жыл бұрын
Agree. I’m not sure why he didn’t colored bricks in the living room and why he didn’t change those tiles at countertop as the owner in previous episode clearly said she don’t like them. Cabinets looks awful, and the whole home is too dark and too brown
@LynsAlteredArts2 жыл бұрын
Not a fan of the kitchen cabinets at all, way too dark and dreary and dingy looking. Also a rug under a dining room table, yuck, gross, specially with a small child there’s going to be food all over that rug and it’s going to be in horrible condition in no time at all.
@samsadie_792 жыл бұрын
My only comment about some of the styling elements in the living room is that the blanket ladder, and tall narrow floor lamp and woven vase will be a hazard once the baby becomes more mobile. They’d all be pushed over very easily. Everything that could topple over should be anchored to the wall, and if that’s not possible, then alternatives that are not as easy to push over should be chosen instead. Advice from this momma of 3 boys.

I LOVE the mural idea as artwork! And the scene is so peaceful but modern with the black and white print. Maybe next time just build the frame out on the floor with mitered corners and attach with sturdy frame hangers in the top. You can use museum putty to seal the sides and bottom to the wall. This will be brutal to change out some day because there are so many nails and they have to fill in and repair the drywall and paint now. Just a thought ;)

I’m not sure I like how this is turning out since there is a small baby in the house and they mentioned wanting a bright and airy look. I love some of the elements though such as curtains and rugs, but the furniture I’m not 100% set. Maybe because the project had such a short deadline and most of the items were from Wayfair, not sure. A tip when staining/spray painting always wear a respirator, when you were spray painting you needed a higher grade mask, and when staining sometimes stain applies blotchy like with the cabinets, if you condition the wood prior to applying the stain it can minimize the blotchy uneven parts a lot and it looks so much better. My comment is not to throw shade at all, I love your channel, your work is inspirational. 💕

I Don't Know. They may sell some pieces. The living room is big enough for two sofas and they put four chairs and a tiny, uncomfortable sofa. It looks nice but it isn't practical. But I guess as Way Fair is paying comfortable sofas were not in the budget. And the nook for the baby isn't practical at all. What they had before was safer to keep a baby. There are too many things that a toddler can break. The lamps were too low but that can be fixed later. The problem is that Way Fair is sponsoring and there is not enough choice. Sorry to say. I think he didn't have much option and little experience with young children. But I'm sure he'll get that experience and learn from mistakes.

FREAKIN FANTASTIC DESIGN STYLE! As a 20 yr painter here's hard lessons to learn SPONGE ROLL POLY WOOD STAIN FIRST thin, THEN BRUSH IT IN ONE DIRECTION QUICKLY TO STOP UNEVEN BLOTCHES & BUBBLES! Poly is THICK & DRIES QUICKLY (unlike drippy stain which is always wiped off with a cloth). Also LESS WOOD FILLER is best on PREVIOUSLY STAINED WOOD because sanding strips the stain & then blotching occurs (it is best to apply pre-stained wood filler with small spatula, or dab it with thinned stain to match wood. (Wood filler ALWAYS ABSORBS TOO MUCH STAIN looking MISMATCH) A SECOND COAT OF POLY THINNED WOULD HAVE SOLVED YOUR BOTCHING ISSUE but would have also darkened wood even more! Hope this helps others! What a great house. I'm not seeing kid friendly furniture in the living room though. You will work your magic I'm sure. My favorite designer!

I used SW Alabaster on my home reno here on the Oregon Coast. I love this shade! It goes well with my beachy blues and greens and is bright and lovely on even the rainiest days. Great choice!

❤️ the design! That mural 👀 amazing and I want those woven chairs. That mirror was a great find! 👍 I also used Minwax polyshade on some oak cabinets. The oak tends to take up the stain in different shades unless it's made from the same tree. Also use a sponge brush for better application. Can't wait for episode 3. 💯❣️😗
@batterbury44772 жыл бұрын
agree - sponge on stain and wipe off excess -let first coat dry, do again until stain is the depth and rich color I want. I am not sure why Drew NEVER protects adjacent surface from spills or drips - so easy to just put some plastic down on floor and and countertops - but it's his M.O.😄

I really like this video. I really like how the dark and light woods are paired over the two separate spaces of the kitchen to the living room.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! These rooms are coming together so beautifully!! Plus, as other comments have said, the editing is great. I love the sped-up-motion in places, and really liked the multiple Drews, Dads, and Justins filling up the room.

The Wayfair company definitely deserves applause and A look at their inventory after this. The remodel pieces of wood?! Transformed the space. The variety of rugs was fun to see also. Plus, for sustainability were the 2 found pieces! Drew and crew, you brightened my day! 🕊🕊💕💕🌴🌴

Liking how things are going so far. I hope you white wash that red brick. I think you might have mentioned it in your last video. I think it would really help brighten everything up and update it to a more modern, fresh feel and connect the rooms (living and dining), especially since the kitchen is still so dark.
