Great video. I’m glad that I’m not the only one who has had to restart seedlings!!! You reminded me to get closer to the light when germinating!! ❤

I was holding my breath while you separated the foxglove. I like to separate them when they are a bit smaller so the roots are not so entangled because they are not as developed but conversely the stems of the seedlings are more fragile and easier to break. enjoyed the video!

It can be tricky to decide when to separate them!

I LOVE your videos. I'm in GA zone 8b so I can often use your videos to keep me on task with seed starting. I just ordered some clearance bulbs for spring and can't wait to get them in the ground.

Greetings, Have you ever gotten seeds from the farm supply store. Where they sell animal feed etc. I got many vegetable seeds and flower seeds like large and small zinnia, Indian Blanket and Sunflower also Marigold. I havent been in a couple months but the stocker was saying more seeds on way of both types. Might be a interesting video for you to show options. It was bulk by the scoop.

The good news is you have extra lights! Way to go. My propagated nasturtiums were doing great until yesterday when I found them loaded with aphids (I think). Rinsed them down but decided to try spraying with soap. I mixed Dawn with water and gave them a good shower. Today the poor things are crispy! I’ve since read that I should have used a different dish soap or, at least less soap. Also that I shouldn’t have gotten it anywhere but on the leaves. Now I’m wondering if I should repot them with fresh, soap free soil. Any ideas???
@shesamadgardener15 күн бұрын
That is a bummer about the nasturtiums - I have been there with soapy water … totally burned many seedlings. You can take the current soil and add boiling water to kill off anything in it and then reuse!
@joycerapezzi237815 күн бұрын
Thank you! I repotted them with fresh soil & clean containers then cut off the dead leaves. Fingers crossed!

Amanda Happy New Year! I have a ? This year I grew cabbage for a fall garden. Unfortunately they were not ready to go out in fall. They are in my cold frame which we do heat when it’s below freezing. My ? Is how to harden off in winter? I am in zone 8a NC so we can plant these out in February. Thanks 😊
@shesamadgardener15 күн бұрын
I would just leave your greenhouse open the elements if you are above freezing and allow the plants to acclimate … look ahead at your forecast and see if you have 5-7 days in a row above freezing and get them planted out at the beginning of the 5-7 days.

Hi Amanda I have a question about removal of domes. I have 12 milkweed seeds under one dome, 2 have germinated( hoping for many more) , should I wait for more to sprout or remove the dome now? The 2 that sprouted seem early as I thought they take longer to sprout but they look good , I’m just afraid of damping off
@shesamadgardener17 күн бұрын
I usually wait until at least 50% of the seeds have germinated before removing the dome. However, if you are past the number of days to germinate and there are only 2, then go ahead and remove it.
