So happy I found this video! It really worked! My left stove panel would not engage at all. So I flipped up the touch display ribbons for the stove portion did the alcohol on the ribbons, the alcohol on the business card to the input control portion, and followed it with the pink erasure foe good measure. Violá!! So happy we didn’t have to call a repair guy!!

In my case it was due to changing the light bulb in the oven. The glass cover was just about welded on and it took a lot of effort to get the cover off. In doing so, the socket spun and pulled the white wire off of the transformer.

We had a couple of the burner buttons that weren't functioning anymore so we initially tried an eraser method found on another site. It killed everything. We then tried cleaning the contacts on the ribbon with rubbing alcohol and also trimmed a business card to fit into the connector slots, applied some rubbing alcohol to the card and inserted into the slots. Reconnected the ribbons and everything came back to life.

I lost power a few hours and after it came back the button CLOCK and START would not work anymore. That meant I could only use the cooktop, the oven was useless (no START button working) and the clock was showing the wrong time, but numbers were still showing. I did exactly what is explained in this video with the alcool and Qtips (no need to use the eraser) and plugged back the appliance and IT WORKS!!! thank you +++

Go to 10:44 to see the real solution that worked. Cleaning the ribbon cable did not fix his touch pad, but it takes watching over 90% of the video to find that out.

For my case, all I needed to do was unplug my stove and replug it back in to get it working normally again. I left it unplugged for more than 30 minutes while I cleaned the area, but I think 2 minutes is an adequate amount of time to leave it unplugged.

I have one that was repaired. The repair guy didn't want to install the new membrane LG sent. Now I see why they sent it. He said it wasn't needed, but the old one is peeling of on flakes. That is why. What I can't figure out is it looks life the new one is made into the shell of the top cover. It looks like they made it to go over the top of the old face but that can't be right.

Thanks very much. We will try this. Bought a used range "in excellent used condition" and the oven doesn't work. Perhaps it is a diff problem though. Touch pad says oven has gone up to 365F (no further) but temp feels like 150-200F.

Are the ribbon contacts supposed to look black or golden? Mine had the same issue right after i heard a loud thunder. The 3 and start buttons no longer works. I wanted to test the ribbons pinout with an ohmmeter but can't find reference drawings for it. The goal is to determine if the touch membrane or the main pcb is the culprit.

It didn't work for me hence I'm in that delinma where I need to figure out what to replace. My husband passed away exactly 1 yr ago & all my fairly new LG appliances as in under 5 yrs old have either passed on with him. Being either too expensive to repair vs what new would've cost me or else everything has cost me no less than $300! When my stove quit working I wanted to bang my head against a brick wall. I tried the eraser, isopropyl 91% alcohol & the eraser trick but of course I did have any luck. Anymore I'm not surprised as the appliances all going to junk were nothing compared to the 150 yr old oak tree being ripped apart during a storm to fall & smash 3 of of vehicles 1 mo after he passed & I had just took out liability insurance only. I totalled his beloved truck 3 mos after he passed due to an unrepaired toe link being rusted away & snapped the tire & the stuff that holds it on. Flipped 4x & was lifeflighted to the hospital not expecting I'd survive. My poor young sons going thru that mess. We were left with no life insurance & found out my husband had a secret life the past 5 yrs & she conned him into withdrawing all his 401k which is gone or Noone knows where he hid it. Not a penny not dollar in wallet - seriously nothing. I always asked why he would never look at or open mail the 25 yrs we were together to get a sense of our bills & stretching ourselves thin. Come to find out there were letters he did open & hid them from me. Yep the good old IRS bill where they were on him to pay $30,000 from Taxes years back. The last was a certified letter warning if a lien put on the home my parents built m. Somehow talked the bank beforehand to lend him the equity on our home & his truck. My name was on both assets but it wasn't mandatory I had to sign or be notified. Our Go Fund Me founder was too lazy & didn't transfer our funds before the 90 day timeline so we lost every stinking penny there too & not 1 person sent us a dime via the postal mail. It's been a struggle living off my salary raising my children with all the debts & his funeral I had to pay for. His family didn't offer a penny as I should've expected. Noone showed up from his side & I am in a wheelchair 70% of the time due to my diseases flaring up. So I'm a bit peeved at LG for the quality of their products. I am so stressed I barely ear hence the stove was barely used. We use our mini convection oven & pizza oven ⅔ of the time & my home is clean so it's not like we don't take care of our things. Maybe our home is cursed - I don't believe in ghosts but it's got to be. I can't explain why our luck is so horrible any other way. All these repairs I have Noone to ask so thank goodness that I have KZbin because I feel clueless & terribly miss having a spouse to help out. He deserved more credit than I gave him from what I've learned & done in his place the last yr. I really dislike man type work I've learned. 🤑😢😤😉

If you don't have the ribbons on your stove, which ours did not, when you press a button just hold it down fir a couple seconds till it beeps. We have to do that with our start button on our amana range, but works every time now and no repair!

I'll try your "eraser method," but I have LG LREL6323S electric range purchased Jan 2022. The LED display board failed Jan 2024 losing one portion of the digital display. This is a known issue at 2 yrs based on my research and notes. The warranty is 1 yrs and LG quoted repair at appx $345. LG is not recommended by my local appliance repair shop. I strongly do NOT recommend LG.

LG appliances suck. I have 4 that have passed on this last yr after my husband passed suddenly. My kids keep telling me I won't be able to fix it but darn it's cheaper than paying someone to take it to the junk yard or else the crazy repair bills. I was so hoping this would work. We've had the worst luck imaginable the past yr it really is unbelievable. I have a migraine wracking my brain being driven to fix the pcb board myself. It seems so darn easy but didn't work out for me. Bummed now my kiddos get to rub it my face again. 1 day when they become adults I hope they realize I was a committed cheap a$$ widow who was too frugal / poor to immediately call the repairman. 😉😓🤑 Can't they give me an A for effort just once or perhaps just once I show them their momma isn't a total dummy?

Mine had a break in the panel. The control panel is a double layer and I peeled it back from the front. found a break in the line. You need a voltmeter using the ohms settings. The lines are very thin and you can't solder. so I found a copper wire that has many fine strands and stripped it and bridged the break. You can put the wire under the broken lines. and then put the sticky top panel back on and it works fine and the fine wires are held in place with the pressure of the sticky tape. I tried to solder this and it just messes it up , you can't do it.
