Fixing LG TV that has a blue tint (4 things to try)

My LG is about 4-5 years old and is showing the blue tint. Unfortunately I have found out that LG uses sub-standard LED strips in their tv's and over time will turn blue because a coating on the bulbs will wear off. The only permanent fix is to replace the LED strips with a new aftermarket set NOT made by Vestel (which is LG's supplier). Sets can be purchased on Ebay pretty cheap but you have to take the tv apart to replace them which is a real pain. There are quite a few videos on KZbin show how to do this.

unplug for 5 seconds and quick change to HDR did the trick. thanks!

Hey, thanks for the video this looks great and I will try as many steps as I can. I am in a very peculiar situation and many you could help me. I recently moved and when I was using my tv I never had a physical remote I used an app on my phone. When I moved to my new place it was also a new Wi-fi network my tv now is not connected to Wi-Fi and cannot be controlled by my app. I bought a universal smart remote and this also did not connect to my LG tv. I have a bad blue light issues wondering if you have any ideas how I can get this tv on Wi-fi so I can get into the settings menu thanks!!

Change your new wifi name and password to what it was at the old place and it should find it and connect on its own

My dad's LG has that blue problem and is about 7 years old. My Samsung is 8 years old, on all the time, and not having any of these LED issues

I have darkened areas all over my LG 60inch set, really noticable on a white background.

Have you moved the tv or placed it face down at any time? I have a tv with similar issues

I have an 86 inch Lg Tv only 2 years old and I have the blue screen issue. Did you say if it doesn’t work it’s time to get a new Tv?

Not if it’s only two years old. Man, that’s tough. I would try to reach out to LG, or the place you bout it from to see if they can offer in additional support. 2 years old is way to new to be having these issues

Man, I’m sorry to hear that. I have a 3 yr old lg OLED tv now and it is the best tv I’ve ever owned. Some don’t like the deep blacks, but I love it
