These videos are so inspiring man. I got rid of my v70 this past summer due to some engine trouble that was too expensive to fix. I’ve always wanted to learn how to work on cars but have always second guessed myself. Wishing I would have attempted the work after watching these videos. I miss that car so much haha

The only downside of your videos is the fact I really start missing my v70s I had in the past and now want to buy one again. The only problem is that I’m broke af and that there’s already an old 240 as my daily which I will definitely keep. Besides that I’m still loving it Willem! ❤

Been following Willems photography and his KZbin for years. When I heard he came out with an automotive channel I was super excited. Had no idea the guy had a passion for cars, something that most of my friends and family don’t have. Super cool, and especially to see him working on 2000s Volvos is sick. Ive been daily driving a 2008 Volvo S60 T5 for the last two years(my first car). And I’ve loved it so much. Sadly I’m putting it up for sale in a couple days as I’m getting a newer car. Anyways, love the channel Willem, the S70 turned out fucking sick. Look forward to seeing your vids in the newest S60 in your collection.

I really enjoy your photography. This channel is so foreign to me. What the realization for me is that a car is just an assembly of parts which have to be put together correctly. Just and correctly seem to be the operative aspects. I follow a channel about “think like an engineer” this seems a lot like that. Thinking and doing! Thanks for sharing your adventures.

A very cool series of videos about this build. Really informative and seeing the things I also went through with my 850 which I swapped from N/A to T5 it was a trip down memory lane for me (although that swap was 2 years ago). I would add front fog lights, a rear roof spoiler and maybe a black dash if that isn't too much of a hassle and you'll have a perfect beautiful white V70. That color is rare, even here in Europe!
@wheelemverb Жыл бұрын
Wow! That’s awesome. I would imagine a T5 swap is pretty intense. Not sure how it is with the p1 gen but even something like adding fogs requires factory software to be added

Okay! You did it and did it well! Now you need another project… like a Volvo for your girlfriend…? ABS block issue on P2 is very common. Also the wheel bearings. But they are easy. And yes it’s very hard to not get a smile revving that 5 cylinder. Luckily I get a daily dose! It reminds of the Audi Quattro rally car with Walter Röhrl. Nice to see you are very enthusiastic about Volvos. It’s hard to explain but it’s that sense of quality and comfort inside a very safe car. Congrats!

Great job! But I just don't believe you don't have the mechanics background, considering how many tools you have. I found it a bit illogical buying temporary ignition coil,if you already know that one is damaged by switching them. Also, if I'd remove the engine, I would clean the under-the-hood area. But it is all minor. I wish you success!

Such an end of a great series. This Volvo looks perfect on these Pegasuses. It makes me wanna buy first possible 2.4 N/A instead of waiting for a perfect T5 with a 6 speed gearbox which will never came cause it's a freakin unicorn. Does gears allow for a comfortable cruise at 70-80 mph? BTW do you remember the name of the song in 16:45 in the background, it really got into my head.
@wheelemverb Жыл бұрын
Yea the gears are quite long, comfortable on the highway for sure. They were luxury cars so even with the manual they had comfort in mind I think. I also can’t stress enough how simple the NA 2.4 is… huge benefit

You got a real score.. with a manual to boot (these years are when Ford owned Volvo and their automatic transmissions are a failure item). I am somewhat rebuilding an inherited 02 v70xc. I am unable to get the outside turn signals or hazard lights to flash. The entire circuits have been replaced. I am hoping the CEM doesn't need to be replaced and programed (fyi. A company in Canada will do that). I am just asking around. Have you run across this problem? I would hate to send off my CEM only to find out the problem was a simple fix elsewhere. I have a virtual VIDA running on my desktop. But no interface cabling to the vehicle (too damn expensive). What interface cables do you use? Thanks 😊
