There's something really inspiring about watching you build; no super cars, no massive crew and all the flash, expensive tools. Just learning as you go and showing us your mistakes. Much respect mate. Yourself & 'M359 Restorations are my favourite youtube channels 😄

Several thousand miles away, I'm restoring my manual 2008 V70 AWD D5. Currently on the 'Swirl flaps', EGR and engine mounts. Thanks for giving me the confindence to tackle this project myself! Surprisingly easy cars to work on 😁

have you checked negative battery and chassis cables? in old cars those tend to have increased resistance across the entire cable mostly because of internal corrosion and a symptom of that is a voltage drop whenever there is any i”voltage consumer activated ( a/c, radiator fans, windows, lights, etc). I had an old Passat with same symptoms and replacing both negative cables problem got solved. just an idea …

The definition of car guy logic, dumping the equivalent of a house down payment into a money pit of a scrap car and smiling ear to ear at the final result! Love it. Just found your channel, looking forward to 996 videos.

how do you remember where all of the bolts and engine components go once you take apart the engine?? seems like it's easy to misplace something or forget how it goes back on

Volvo community. I need your guidance, I have a 2002 Volvo S60 base when I start it the rpms drop to like 600 or it just completely dies. But if I disconnect the battery then let it sit there for a bit then plug it back in it will run fine for the first time, but it does it when you try to start it. I do have a bad down flow oxygen sensor that is reading nothing. Please help

I'm in the middle of doing this in the car (cam/crank seals, timing, pcv) and had the same thing happen with the crank. I think the tool from Amazon I got was out of tolerance or something. While cranking on the crank nut something slipped and the crank moved. I looked at the end of the crank locking tool and it had yielded at the point where it interfaces with the crank 😖 I was not able to get the crank back to time without manipulating the cam so I'm worried I bent a valve though people on the forums say it's probably alright. Also I notice you didn't show the procedure for installing the front crank seal, definitely not as easy you make it look. The OEM or a custom tool really helps here

Nice one! I like how its kinda a sleeper when you come up from behind with that standard V70 front bumper! Good to see the car up and running smooth and nice to see the car meet at around 21:21 (452 black V70R!!) Im sorry to say I got rid of my 2009 magic blue 2.5t S60, but stayed true to the brand and got a caspian blue 2013 S80 executive diesel. I know it's not as swift to 60 mph but will pull very nicely on the freeway, and with an added bonus as it comes with a volvo fridge in the rear seats:) As I'm getting older the S60 was too jumpy (the gas pedal was like an elastic band, I'm sure it had been tuned in the past) and the height of the car made it more difficult for me to get in and out. This S80 is a tad more heavy and overall also a tad more comfy; the only options it doesn't have is bird eye view cameras up front and the tow bar. This one had 163 bhp standard but is tuned also and now does 198 bhp and 453Nm (was 400Nm).
