So the fuel tank had a bunch of crap in it , and was causing me problems trying to work it the other day. It finally clogged completely, and we decided to clean it out and do it right….. ish…..

Well you just come on over here anytime! Lol! We’re pretty pleased with the new bill ourself. And I’ve followed your 3000 vids and the resto on the 8n and boy I didn’t think your were gonna have to go that deep into it. But you’ve got a great tractor now! I’m worried I’ll be doing a head gasket on this one soon. If can’t get the smoking to stop

I dont know why, but old tractors are addicting. Somehow i've accumulated 3... That super dexta is a neat little tractor, built in England i think? I have a b414 international diesel which was also built in England.

I hate it when crap like that happens. Then you have to figure out where the malfunction is and one like that isn't always as easy as it would seem. Friend had early Subaru that would run fine for a while then just chug to a stop, wait 10 minutes or so and it'd fire up and run fine for a while. Took a while but it turned out they had lined the tank with thin rubber coating inside and after enough years it breaks down and blocks the fuel outlet. Let it set a bit and the rubber floated away and it'd run till it got sucked back over the outlet or screen. I think he drained the tank and cleaned it but it was ok till they retired it.

It's hard to kill those old diesels since everything is mechanical. I know in the ih tractors there's a sediment bowl on the bottom of the tank to prevent issues like that, maybe thats what you need
@Terminxman2 жыл бұрын
A lot of times over the years idiot owners remove things like that.
@MXguy952 жыл бұрын
I would have thought it would have that too. But what I’ve seen thats more common on gas tractors of this era.

If you used a strong magnet on the underside of the tank, wouldn’t all the rust eventually get attracted to the magnet and away from the filter. Just an idea, may not work.
