I got precision raceworks coils. Never had another issue. Got bav coils before that, they started failing after 8 months.

Been battling a misfire in cylinder 2 with my Precision 6266 single turbo kit and an E85 tune after 4K in 3rd gear. New 2 step colder plugs, index 12's, eldor coils, LPFP sensor, and even an O2 in bank 1. Compression and leak down tests are good. Going to try gapping the plugs at 0.018 to see if closing that gap helps. Fingers crossed as I have tried everything it seems. Might try PR coils next.

Ignition is huge on these motors. I see no issue gapping plugs down to that. Let us know how it goes

Glad that was an easy fix for the misfire on cylinder 1, Whats the max ethanol content you've run on the 17t car? Excited to see this with the new turbos on 😁

Got a light out. Add to the list of fixes. :) Edit: interesting that lower gap would be of benefit. I run 15t's at 20 psi with charge pipe meth at .024" gap (except cylinder 5 & 6 at .022...don't ask) and runs beautifully. N54's, they're fickle beasts!

Thanks for all of the content. I just installed RB2 turbos on my N54 335i. I still have the stock diff. What tires do you suggest for the best 0-60 times? Also what boost per gear did you find to work best?

Best ones we have had on our cars are the nankang AR-1s. On the street they performed better than Micky T et street rs.

thank you for this video! i was running frankenturbo 24psi tune for 3 months on some old 2 step colder plugs and logs were perfect but before i turned the boost up to 28psi i switched to new 2 step colder plugs gapped them .20 and checked 24psi log and timing was perfect but as soon as i turned boost up to 28psi i was getting timing pulled in cylinder 2 and a misfire cylinder 6! so i went back to the 24 psi tune and i’m still getting timing pulled cylinder 2 but no misfire so i will check my plugs and regap to .018 or should i do .022?

Smaller the gap the less chance of corrections and misfires. However with the smaller gap you get hard cold starts and it will use more fuel around town. I’d be running around 0.018 on your setup if you have stock coils. Maybe even try 0.016 see how bad it is for normal off boost driving.

Not sure if you saw the rolls vid, but the earth wire for that coil was loose.... god knows how long its been loose. But it looks like the plug has been shorting out right at the bottom of the porcelain. This might explain all my cyl 4 timing corrections on the hard pulls...... whoops.

@@ZeroTo60Tube I always coat the porcelain on my spark plugs with Permatex Dielectric grease when I install them.

Still in the dark on how to change or add unit of measurement such as 60-120 kmh or other measurements. I can only toggle on/off the ‘Default mode’

There is a + symbol on the main go screen of the dragy app that lets you do custom tests

I have a slight hesitation at the start. I'm running the crappy Bosch OEM. Want to change them to NGK's. But what number do I have to buy for my stock n54? Thanks in advance, Dutch regards Nico.

I have done an entire series on turbo install before. Which includes the downpipes. There are a few ways to do it, but i just drop the subframe, get that out of the way and its not too bad of a job.

Be careful you don’t cause superknock (lspi) loading up at low rpm like that. I assume it’s not pinging when you feel the vibration….?

Genuine reason for concern. But a pump fuel ots map on stock turbos won’t stress the motor too much, surely.

@@ZeroTo60Tube I have had the 30ED and 30EF shadow codes running MHD ots tunes. It's nothing to do with timing just pre-ignition due to pressure and temperature that ignites the mixture while still on the compression stroke. There are a few threads out there on it and it does affect the n54.

@@paulsimpson8990 had the same super knock codes when I was on 91 octane on stage 2+ v9 MHD tune. Tuned down to stage 2 on 91 and it fixed it. Now I’m on e50 2+ on stock turbos and no issues whatsoever. Ethanol definitely helps with superknock. I think mhd’s 2+ is too much for our California gas

Bruh. I just put new stage 2 colder gapped at 0.019 and my car started to misfire at high rpm. And now I bought new index 12. And it could have been spark plugs

Its a custom measurement, just look for the + symbol on the dragy go screen
