I've had the same trouble with rough country. Had to put 2" lift pucks on they're 4" lift. I guess you can't install a winch if your using they're stuff. Didn't have the adjustable track bar for 6 months (no off road use yet) and had to replace the tie rod end. Thank god you can buy a factory for t r end to use. Good video brother.

Loved the video bro. I really can not wait to do the bastard pack on my '97 and '96 XJ's. Wish I lived near you, I'd give you a hand working on your XJ's. I'm in Indiana unfortunately. Two sets of hands is a lot better than one for sure when doing the bastard pack. Great vid as always. Keep on keeping on my friend. OlllllllO

I'd go with the RE drop bracket, adjustable track bar, and you can get it with a brace that connects both "frame" rails. RE also make control arm drop brackets and control arm drop bracket braces that connect to your transmission cross member. I bought the RC X-series 4.5" lift about a year ago, for almost $850. Since I installed it, I've been replacing it. The only thing I've bought from RC that I like, are the leaf spring shackle relocation brackets. I would strongly suggest looking at other companies for your lift kit and if at all possible, by it it pieces as you have the money, then put them on your Jeep.

Thanks for the heads up, sounds like even a junkyard lift would be more reliable and worth the extra work

I put the YJ break lines on my XJ. Check out the videos for Zombie Jeep on Bleepin Jeep. As so I used JK stock shocks they are good for 4in lifts

Hello friend ! Can you please tell what’s your upgrade for suspension and tires ??thank you !

Companies should stand behind their products. It seems they forget there is the internet and You Tube. I bet they wished they wished they sent you the shocks. Nice job on your Jeep.

Buy once cry once is how I went about on mine. Rubicon Express with full leaf pack. RC might be cheaper at first but then we end up here.

Rough Country is an inexpensive product with springs known to sag quickly. Old man emu is not known to do that that, but they are not inexpensive. Guess the quality of steel really does mater! However, I have heard good things about the "bastard" lift using S-10 leaf springs - guess GM used better steel on their trucks.

Does this require anything done with the driveline such as the drive shafts or the transmission cradle/crossbar ? Love this Xj!

@@cherokeeronnie that's great! With a 3 inch lift I shouldnt expect anything to need adjusted then awesome! Love the channel!
@seanwilliams50537 жыл бұрын
Good vid! Though, it ain't RC's mistake. ALL leaf springs sag. My Rubicon Express full leaf packs sagged just the same. It's just the nature of a leaf spring. It seems the slick bastard pack these days is the Dakota setup...might be a little stiffer as I'm guessing it's a little heavier of a vehicle than the S-10.
@cherokeeronnie7 жыл бұрын
+Sean Williams yea they do settle a inch but they are not suppose to sag two inches than the eyes break off at the bushing if I can't take a lift off road it's a waste of money in my book

What yr s10? Does it matter if the donor S10 is 2 or 4 wheel drive? I would like to only go up 2 inches on my daily driver xj mainly because my father gave it to me ( my dad has never " given " me a vehicle I was raised to earn everything I've ever been " given" anyway out of respect I would want to keep her mainly stock minus lockers a snorkel ( because they are sexy) and a 2 inch lift because I'm tired of being shorter than a Chevy equinox! Lol anyway any suggestions in doing a simple 2 inch lift? Love the channel I just discovered you tonight and liked subbed and bell clicked! Thanks for the info!
@keithbaker19515 жыл бұрын
I should have watched until the end you said 89 S10 :0) ! Haha but aside from that would it matter if I went with a 2 or 4 wheel drive donor S10?
@cherokeeronnie5 жыл бұрын
Keith Baker get 4x4 if your only going 2 inch just use the main leaf from the s10 cut the eyes off and add it to your pack

Well I was getting ready to order a 3" lift for my 97 xj but well I think that just went out the window If yours started sagging after only 6 months it freaking garbage. Would you think doing the bastard pack with the stock main leaf would hold up better or should I still order a set of leaf springs and just use the main leaf off that??
@cherokeeronnie7 жыл бұрын
+Timothy Allan yeah it will do the same as you seen in the video I have stock mains with a s10 main leaf on my daily with stock xj pack

I have the 3 series II on mine with full leaf pack and control arms and im running 32s Cooper SST without trimming except the front bumper and I measure close to a 4" lift over stock. I regret not going OME but so far this lift has work exceptional. Once these shocks go I'll replace with OME or something better. For what you get its worth it.

Old video but I got to chime in. All the RC stuff on my Jeep suspension rise kinda blows. I still respect that it’s made in America and super affordable. The non suspension stuff however is amazing. I got bumper armor LEDS and there are super good for pretty low price. I’ve got rustys and RE sus now but the rough country no suspension components are great especially for the price
