I like how the advice you gave was very achievable and tangible. I can understand that. Very well. Pardon me if I'm paraphrasing, but I really like the 2nd advice you gave which is all about focusing on physical things on yourself. Maybe pinching yourself or something of the sort. I never thought of this. Innovative advice for me and ground breaking.

This really helped me, thank you. This next season I'm having to adjust my game from a big to more of a wing because of going into an older group, and taking open shots has always been hard for me, aiming to take atleast 3 shots a game this season. Hope you play your best with your new team

I m a spot up shooter,yesterday missed 3 straight right elbow 3s in 1 possession game, all are open shot and there is my sweet spot,kinda frustrated and disappointed that I let my teammate down, over-thinking is really a mental block for playing well, when practicing shooting drills,our mind tend to be free shot better
@TuckerRichardson3 ай бұрын
This is tough, but the reality is it happens to all basketball players. In college in a championship game I missed 2 open 3s in the last minute that would have won us the game, and we lost. You did not let your teammates down, you just missed some shots, which happens!

Hey man love the vid, and in my history as a centre I've just kind off stopped when my mind ain't sure what to do, and doing some of the things you mentioned helped me and my decision making has improved and my overall game too

@@TuckerRichardson yeah, luckily for me I had the right coachs around me who helped me a lot, but I've seen a lot of younger players literally freeze up and just dont know what to do and let the stress get to them, but hopefully they see a video like this😅

Hey Tucker, I really appreciate the information you are sharing. My Son school basketball team is struggling this year with a bunch of new players, mostly sophomores and juniors. I saw that you recently played in our summer league (Enloe). You were killing !!!Really wish you could talk to the team. Your videos on confidence being unselfish being a leader will really help. They are starting the season 1-7. If you are able to talk to the team? I’m pretty sure you have Coach Poobie information or just reply to this comment and we can discuss further. Thanks again for your videos 💯💪🏾

To be honest, to stop myself from overthinking i actually just stop thinking. If I can feel myself overthinking in the next timeout i sit down and just try to completley clear my mind. I stop looking at the crowd, and generally just look at the floor and the coach. Then when I get back on the court i find myself taking measured risks and making much better decisions. The way I clear my mind is honestly just by completley listening to the coach and not allowing any other thoughts coming into my mind. Once I have done this i feel like I am truly myself again, and can get back to smoking the other team 😏
@TuckerRichardson2 ай бұрын
Hey, sounds like you have that figured it out. For a lot of people, me included, just sort of shutting off the mind is really difficult. So I usually have to use other tactics to make that happen. Although I agree, really focusing on something like the coaches words or a spot on the court is its own kind of grounding. Thanks for sharing!

@@TuckerRichardson I wasnt trying to say that what you are saying is worthless or anything like that, bc if i thought that i wouldnt have watched the video :). I just felt like sharing this bc I find that it really helps to stop and try to remove yourself from the game, and after doing that refocus again. idk how to really explain it more than i just have lol. I also want to say i love your vids so much. They help me in so many little ways. I'm in australia and i hope to be pro in the national league or better one day, so I try to absorb all the info you have to give, as i know that I am lucky to have to opportunities that i do, such as being able to listen to past and current pros so easily with the internet. so thanks. I'm sorry if my comment cam across as cocky or anything else like that, as that wasnt the point. I was trying to be helpful in my own way.
@TuckerRichardson2 ай бұрын
I didn't take it that way at all, if anything I am just impressed by your process and think it is always great for players to hear how their peers are finding success in any way. So no, you didn't come across cocky! I am grateful for your sharing! Keep working, I know Australian hoops are getting pretty good. In fact, I think it would be really cool to play in Australia one day!
