You did it wrong. The two large washers with the bigger holes go on the outside of the bracket, against the rubber isolation dampers and the two large washers with the smaller holes go on the inside of the bracket against the rubber isolation dampers. Not doing this will casue a failure of the components. The purpose of the big washers is to spread the load across both faces of the rubber isolation dampers. The way you did it will dramatically shorten the life of the components. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sHilkKmjZ66EedE

I realized this and went in the next day to repair it! I've left info in my description leading to the company's install video. I didn't notice two washers were slightly larger than the other two. It's sorted now!

Just have to look in the right market areas. Folks who don’t watch KZbin 😂🤣😂. Got mine for $8k, Cayenne S model with 152k miles. Guy had too much cars and needed to get rid of it. I suspect he liked it at first but didn’t want to invest in the expensive maintenance seeing that couldn’t/didn’t want to do the self maintenance stuff. Oh yeh I got mine from Richmond VA.

I did the same on my T1 Touareg last year when they first came out. Regretted not ordering the new mounting plate that you did since the process to reuse the factory mounting plate is a huge pain to reinstall.

Hi 👋 I have a 2017 Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid and I am having vibrations between 60-70 km/h, vibrations are not big but they’re there. My garage checked the rims and tires and that’s all good. We came to the conclusion that it’s the driveshaft but looking at this video and my vibrations being smallish , can it be this part that needs to be replaced rather the whole drive shift ? Thank you for your help .

I'm from Spain and I can't find any information here, they say the Cayenne here is not good for off-roading, but I want to transform my Cayenne and show that it's good for off-roading, I want to put 35-inch tires on it, raise the suspension, put luggage rack, front and rear fenders, do you have any video of the transformation? any tutorial on what you did to put those tires and suspension?

what were your negative symptoms of the driveshaft that made you want to do this? vibration in the bearing?? There is some vibration on my cayenne when I drive from 70-90kmph I think something is wrong under there most likely the bearing is going bad. would you reckon this to solve that?
@HarrisonSchoen2 жыл бұрын

@@HarrisonSchoen Ya I just don't want to spend 500$ and it not even fix the issue. Ive emailed them and asked aswell but i suspect this is most likely the cause. @@Jdsofar I'd say crawl underneath the cayenne and investigate! if the bushing is bad or torn it may be the cause!

It will inevitably fail so better to take care of it before it comes rudely knocking on the highway. I bought a silicone part this guy made in Germany which also works. Been 3+ years and 30-40k miles later still kicking ass, just need to replace the zip ties one every couple years.

@@BoschPorsche Yeah that’s the worst when you are on the road (or off-road) as in some of this channels videos. Albeit he’s taking huge jumps and testing what these cars are made of, I don’t have the balls yet but glad to see he has sponsors and people to help him along the way otherwise it begins to get really Really expensive. These cars are gems, no one’s wants to touch them because of the badge and the dealership quotes for maintenance and repair bills but if you have the time to research parts and replace them yourself you’re are golden. It isn’t the bearing that goes bad, only the bushing around the driveshaft bearing.

@@m4d_mark_xtr3me79 As far as I know, the Bearing isn't really replaceable. it's necessary to get a new drive shaft at that point.
@m4d_mark_xtr3me79 Жыл бұрын
@Harrison Schoen Yeah, you have to remove the metal dust sheild/cap. (In the centre) Then carefully remove the ball bearings. Then remove the retaining wire. Remove the centre knuckle and then, After that, you can remove the centre bearing. Why they didn't just use a dust boot or a something simple like that with a C clip I don't know 🤷♂️ But that's how you change the centre bearing without a new driveshaft.
