I feel your pain. Before the Range Rover I had a Focus convertible that had the same drop window system. It went a bit wrong but it was a build up in the motor. I could feel your frustration and am so glad you got it all sorted. Onwards and upwards mate. PS congrats on reaching 3k

I think you needed to do the window reset procedure after installing the eBay part, which you did not show on the video. You did do that with the Porsche part. Roll the window down and then back up hilding the button in the postion for a second or two after you reach the bottom and top of the window travel. Well done for sorting it out and letting us learn from it.

Hi Neil, thank you for your support and positive feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed the video and found it helpful. 😊 With regards to the eBay part, I have tried everything, including resetting, but I also wanted to confirm that I have not done any reset after installing the Porsche part. As soon as I installed it, it worked like magic! However, don't let this deter you from buying eBay parts because it looks like I'm one of the minority people who had issues with eBay parts. But I could tell that the eBay part wasn't legit because, since that video, I've attempted to get in contact with the seller on eBay and he's refusing to respond, and eBay can do nothing about it.

I did the very same job on my 987 3.2s There are after market door latches on eBay. I paid about £30 for mine. Job done.

I thought I'd give it a try because a lot of people had recommended to me to try eBay parts, but I agree with you, I will try to buy genuine parts as I usually do on the Range Rover. Thanks for your uplifting comment!

Welldone did you hurt your hand whilst fixing the car? I wonder if the first lock you bought was the wrong type for your car , I recently replaced one in my evoque due to not opening ( what a nightmare trying to attache the hooks inside the panel no room and cant see what you are doing ) but whilst ordering it seen some for keyless entry etc so wonder if yours was for a different model.

I have damaged some of my nerves doing other projects which may be featured on this channel 😉 Thank you for asking😊 With regards to the part, you're right, it could be! I understand that some people bought a locking mechanism from eBay before, like I did, and I confirmed with the seller if it fits before I bought it. But I think I'm just unlucky when I buy parts from eBay! How is your Evoque doing now? All good and sorted? 😁
