Warren, if you get another compressor, hook the old one, (tank), to the new one, doubles your air capacity and the motor won't kick on as often. It works quite well and you don't lose any PSI needed to air tools. Another great video as always. Cheers :)

Don't you know adding heat to a bearing can cause the planet's to aline in such a way that it can cause the earth to shatter into billions of little.pieces. I sit at a computer and my only experience is the way that my grandfather used to work on cars 30yrs ago and I watched him once!!!!😂😂😂 I learn a lot from your videos friend keep up the good work and just and some people need to learn that there's 99 roads that lead to the same place and that doesn't always mean. That just because what works.for some means it's not what works for all situations.. Keep up the great work!!!!

You need a wash table (a barrel with a washbox on it and a food switch to pump the wash fluid) or hot washer box (Just put the items in a nd 15 minutes later they are clean).

Hey Warren, for what it's worth. I think someone hopped up the original file that was in the truck originally. They got into the file and modified the parameters and left it named as a factory file, if you compare the file sizes you might find the "original" truck file may be larger or smaller than the factory file. It's got to be a glitched or modified file. If everything else is right (and I trust you, so it's gotta be right) then the only thing left is a glitched or modified file that's causing the issues. It's a stab in the dark, but at this point it makes sense.. Cheers!

My friend uses brake cleaner but he gets his in 5 gallon containers then pours it in to a hand pumped sprayer. He says it's cheaper to buy like that.

Would have liked to see you set the kingpin bearing preload. I did a MXM120 last year and like you I couldn't believe how tight they were when I took it apart. Manual called for 87 - 108 ft lbs to rotate the knuckle after the king pins bearings were coated with moly grease during assemble. Once again it felt like a lot of force needed to turn the knuckle but I ended up with the same shim pack as original to get the spec, same both sides of tractor.

It seems that most mechanic shop guys use brake clean or similar for their cleaning, convenient, easy to carry about and does an excellent job.Some use half gallon pump pots with smaller hand held 700 ml trigger squeeze applicators for smaller jobs.Had a comment made to me by a contractor here in Christchurch New Zealand, that he had heard of a few Ag contractors bitching about the complexity of the modern gear, mainly John Deere, many of the problems electrics based, they are finding field mechanics are having difficulty with diagnosing the electronic problems. Too much down time for stuff that never occurred back 15 years ago.

Warren, on the CM 870, can you tell if the cams were possibly reground to a different profile? There was an outfit that was offering reground cams awhile back with a different profile that required them to be installed at different initial timing settings. Also there was an offroad equipment file for 525 or 535 HP offered that someone may have flashed the ECM with.
@leebarnes655
@leebarnes655 5 жыл бұрын
Some stumbling around on the internet (last time I did that with you, I got crossed way up when I fell for a dirty trick they did) there seems to be an index file that tuners can modify that isn't re-flashed with the ECM file alone. This from the pickup crowd and the recommendation is of course a dealer flash where the index file is set with the corrected parameters in such a manner that the ECM can then find them in the correct places again. As it is the ECM is using the turners information blocks that were moved? Not much help, but your friends might have some better knowledge of just what that's about? Best of luck in any event.

Cone style bearing heater: been around since the 1930's or 40's and rarely seen in repair shops now. Most newbies never even heard of one. Why heat and expand a $500.00 bearing when you can just beat it into place....Same thing with using dry ice to shrink a bushing. Most just get a bigger hammer.

Long idle times seem like a cold weather or no one around monitoring machine. We get so cold in winter months in Delta Alaska, and everyone heads for a quonset hut to get warm themselves and then the poker game breaks out and no one working and the engines are never shut off cause outside temps are minus forty or more. I know this does not pertain to what you do or are doing as this is way out of my wheelhouse. I wanted to mention though that your truck and you have become one. I would love to see a power window in the passenger's side for the truck so you can control from drivers seat and do the window up/down for your companions and frost on the punkins mornings when you leave out to work. It I remember right, the first day of use on this rig was fixing a tractor up in some area where the owner harvested or fed his animals from. I am confused cause I see you blowing out dirt in something on the top side and you had to dig your way in to get the guards so to blow tons of farm dirt out... just been to long ago for me and of course if it isn't a job that I did then why to remember at all. Thing is there was snow on the ground and the truck handled it great. Getting used to a new to yourself rig is excruciating process. Then a guy can clean dirt and stuff off with the window blade in door channels. I know that you take good care of your stuff and that long drive back from auction where you bought and then drive home to find all the goodies left behind. Nice welder if I remember right amongst a lot of things not expected. Kinda like a truck I bought when I was able to still work... this truck I got was not a inspected truck but a as is and where is truck. When I opened it up and found out what I had, it was a truck that the driver of died and they got rid of it rather than put a new driver on so it had everything he had built himself. I had a fully stocked truck for a very cheap price of a older but good shape truck, about eight to more years old. Biggest thing was the time that the truck sat without anyone using or even monitoring. Some big companies just don't care. I figure I paid about a half cent on the dollar for its entirety. Even the bottles on the truck were still full. Sets of spare every thing so he/ she didn't have to go home early. I guess that I paid full price in a way as I got crippled when I was fifty two and after trying for six years just put all my stuff in my shop and locked the doors (huge shop) .. I couldn't sell what I had worked for and my grandson who helped me move from my property wanted my tire machine real bad so I told him to help me get moved to the cabin that I still reside at today. When he got me home basically, I handed him title to that truck, all the tools an everything in the garage.About two fifty or more cause people had stolen stuff and it was old. It included my home boxes that went over thirty feet and ten feet high with the travel scafell I used to get stuff out of the high boxes. Sad hu, I just couldn't sell my arms and legs so I figure it was a head start for him on the security of keeping his family fed. He has been using them for ten years come January. He still has the truck but it show its age now.

I had a real dirty front hub on a Massey and wasn’t looking to forward to cleaning it and the farmer had 3/4s of a 45 gallon drum of diesel sitting around and I put on my rubber gloves and worked it up and down till it came out clean. That doesn’t happen every where but got lucky that day.

Because heat will expand the bearing so it can slip on to a press fit journal easier, also can freeze bearings to fit in a bearing surface easier.
