It’s so nice to see even a pro has the kind of hell I was experiencing. This video helped so much. Thank You Sir. 🎉

Great video. I took the alternator thru the top. I removed 4 bolts from the exhaust shield and moved it out of the way to give u much needed space to take it out thru the top

Noel gutierrez did that work for u ?

I did mine a week ago, on the all wheel drive models there is no chance of getting it out the bottom like that, i spent a good hour trying. managed to get it out the top an hour or so later. Its tight though between exhaust manifold and break master cylinder. definitely a two man job with no hoist. thanks for the video.

Did everything no problem solo in the cold til I got to the serpentine belt installation. Beer and food is a good way to attract help.

Love it ! I actually did it your way no axles out all that crazy stuff . I trusted and you came through !Thank you!

Thank you, this video saved me a lot of extra frustration I'm sure I would have had if I'd not known the tensioner was accessed through the wheel well and the alternator removed from below, especially since I was doing this at someone else's house across town and had to bring all the tools needed with me.

I'm fighting with that same connector. It's a pain in the ass. That's why I watched this video but I also learned how to do the tensioner so that's good.

You can take it out from the top. Remove the exhaust cover plate and pull up, turn the alternator and see (reposition) where more space to pull up.

6:38... Is that the positive post that goes to the battery? If so, any way to access it from the top?

Thank you, this was a very informative video! I must add a little criticism as you do not start the car, nor do you explain proper tension or how to achieve proper tension on the alternator. To me this is an extremely important factor in finishing this type of project without having failures later.

to everyone saying take it out through the top by taking off heat shield...did you ever try to take 10mm bolts out of an exhaust? rusted in there and rotted. Maybe that's why he took it through the bottom.
@Alex-ti3uf5 жыл бұрын
You don’t have remove the tire and the plastic cover to get into the tensioner Pulley, use the Serpentine Belt Tool. Use to tools from the top. I guess 3 years ago, they don’t have this tools yet.

Alex did this work for u to go they the hood instead of they where the tire is

What a cowboy,what are you doing down the bottom? 😂 It’s easier from the top take the heat shield off,take off the black cover,take the 2 bottom bolts off get a string,rope or wire to support or hold up the alternator,then undo the top bolt,pull the alternator up,take the other black cover off and disconnect the wires and Bobs your uncle 👍

A pair of pliers works well to getting the last clip off the alternator.

Just replaced my starter, alternator and battery for my Mazda 5 it's a 2006. The battery light still on? Any idea what's going on. Put a little thing to test what's wrong with it no codes came up

Defective alternator or battery is weak to hold charge from alternator internal failure.

Good grief, coming out rhe top is easier, ain't taking the whole car apart to get to it. That's where they stick it to you in a garage, labor to remove everything....
@Junqueira22332 жыл бұрын
It looks like you needs to take cash for extra hours repair. I love mechanics who rather disassemble a half of car because it is easier for them and ask for extra cash for hours. That's why I do everything on my cas myself.

+Josue Sanchez Dude, it really is. I'm by no means a mechanic, but I'm not an idiot either. It took me six hours. It really is a two person job if you don't have a hoist.
