Wonderful!! Worked a treat. I was a little skeptical, but gave it a go and it's worked great. !!! Top quality video! Update - two months following the repair, still working amazing. It's very satisfying and overall saved on the expense of a new printer!

I've never really fixed anything like this before but I followed the steps and wah lah! my printer is fixed! Thank you for the step by step instructions. I also wrestled getting my prop arm back in but figured it out and my nails are all black but I am so happy to keep using this printer but more happy that I was able to do it myself.

Brother claims the printer is garbage when the inkpad is full...THANKS A LOT for this video, it saved my printer !!!
You just saved another printer from going to the recycle bin! Thank you for your video. You can add the MFC-J4410DW to your list. That's what I have, and your instructions were all applicable. (On the MFC-J4410DW I had to enter the codes using the printer's numerical keypad.)

Well, this was an almost perfect video. The only thing wrong with it was you didn't explain how to remove that stupid scanner carriage prop arm if it isn't already broken! 🙂 Sadly (and kind of embarrassingly) it took me almost as long to figure out how to take that arm off so I could remove the carriage as it did for me to complete the rest of the job! 😞 For those like me, the top end of that prop arm rides inside a plastic guide. That plastic guide seats in the carriage at the front of the printer and clips into place in the rear. Just open the carriage until the arm stops it and unclip the rear end of the guide and pull straight down. It will come right out.

Thanks for you tip on removing the prop arm. I couldn't see how to disengage it without breaking something. It released easily and went back even easier when I was reassembling. I took the easy way out and bought a new absorber pad. I saved the old one, and will try cleaning it for next time.

OMG thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I managed to repair our Brother DCP-J4120DW using your video. There were a couple of differences with cord color and clips vs screws, but with your detailed instructions I managed to work it all out appropriately. Printer up and running again here in wet New Zealand. Will send you a gift to your pay pal link.

Thank you, yes when it is wet and raining lots the absorber pad doesn't get a chance to evaporate the water content in the waste ink collected in the pad resulting in this error message. It is important to dry the pads right out before reassembly if you live in a wet climate.
@DJS-dy2du4 ай бұрын
I placed the pads in a dehydrator for about 6 hours at 40 degrees C. They were nice and dry when they went back in. 😊 Thanks again

Brilliant, and appreciate that this repair didn't cost a single cent (well maybe for the piece of packing tape) Thanks for taking the time for such as extensive instructional guide!
Looks like I jumped the gun a bit. The printer now has a new problem. It said to replace the yellow and black ink cartridges which I did with new cartridges bought from Office Works. It however now says it does not detect the yellow or black cartridges and to remove them and reinsert slowly which does not fix the problem. Added to this, looking at the little window on the new black cartridge it seems to be empty! As if all the black ink has been drained out? So while I was pleased yesterday that it printed, it was not actually printing black!

@@louisvangraan1012 Our inks for the printer $38 for the LC 237BK high capacity and $28 each ymc lc235 high capacity. Officeworks generally only sells the low capacity LC233 which runs empty in as little as 4 head cleans and you do not touch the non-genuine inks that Officeworks sells I'll tell you why face to face but not in a public forum.

This video has been very useful to me. I just want to ask about that condensator. Is it easily replaceable, what are they called and what type? Mine is not fully working anymore, gives between 1,5 and 1,59 V. That might also be the reason why my printer has trouble to turn on / stay in sleep mode? Everything else works again!!! So I'm very grateful.

Thank you very much. It was quite an adventure, but finally I succeeded. But now I have a another problem. No more error messages. The colours are printing fine. But the black colour does not print. When I print some black text, the printer prints , but the printed sheet is empty. I have tried another cartridge from a friend that does print ok on his printer. But this cartridge also gives no results on my printer, DCP J4110DW. Could you please help?

You have air in your black ink line instead of black ink. If you keep removing the cartridge and placing it back in the machine or swapping it with another you are forcing more air in. Watch this video to understand the principal and make sure you click on every ad that pops up. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oafQgX6wqtSCg7c
@jd-fv9nf Жыл бұрын
@@TerryJonesPrinterRepairs Hi Terry. That was also very instructive. I took the printer apart again, to see if I could see the air in the black tubes, but you can't see all of it unless you take the machine even further apart, which I did not want to do. So I cleaned the left filter some more, and pressed the black tube faster to the right waste pad. Put it together again and cleaned the black ink twice . Problem solved!
