Max pressure means nothing. Look at the specification label and go by the "rated" psi and lpm. The karcher k2 As tested by obsessed garage on youtube. PSI = 1250 Lpm = 4.0 I don't know the actual gerni numbers but the specification says. Rated PSI = 1522 Rated flow = 5.8 These companies are all extremely misleading.

Interesting, yes purely numbers comparisons can be tricky to visualise (and tinkered with by the manufacturer, that's why a side-by-side test is best, as you are comparing real-world performance, not statistics. Ultimately it is the result and the speed at which it can do it that matters to the user, so they can weigh up the relative costs (assuming equal build quality).

@@FixitFingers Very true, side by side comparisons help with judging the performance. In saying that actual performance figures matter as it determines the cleaning ability and one of the main reasons users purchase a more expensive pressure washer. Users also think they have purchased some overly powerful machine and yet its really no better than tbe ozito from Bunnings. Let say you buy a karcher k5 thinking it has 2300 psi and 8.3 lpm for $650. Tested the K5 is1400psi and 4.4lpm You can get the ozito for $99 bucks its rated 1450psi and 6lpm. It also has 3 year replacement warranty which the k5 has a repair warranty, and karcher is a headache to deal with. Ozito is over the counter at Bunnings. I guess the key is here, more expensive doesnt always mean more powerful or a better experience. A few other things to note are warranty, ease of accessing warranty and support from manufacturers - from my research many manufacturers are extremely poor with support and warranty. These machines are all a rort lol you cant trust anything they claim. I'm looking to purchase one at the moment at its done my head in. Majority of the machines are made by the same companies then rebadge. I.e Nilfisk machines are, stihl, gerni, Husqvarna. AR blueclean seem to make many of the other brands - the smaller ozito was from AR and sold by SP tools for double the price haha. I think I'm going with the gerni 5000 as its best bang for buck for $300. The 5300 is the best of the gerni line the 7000 and 7300 are the same machine just with the pressure turned up but you lose flow. If you can get the gerni 5300 on sale for under $400 that's the best value machine to buy. Thanks for the clip! Was handy to see the 5000 in action.

I actually bought a small Ryobi unit after my last Karcher dropped it's guts, and the patio cleaner attachment was the best thing I bought ! It made an incredibly easy job of cleaning our pool surround and paths, I couldn't have been happier - while more power would have been good, it was pretty much a one shot need, as I just needed to get the house tarted up for sale :)

That baby Karcher paid for itself so many times over I can not complain. It had a great run, but I looked back at my last bill for the same work last year and I charged 7 hours... This year was 4 hours. Next year will probably be faster as I won't be filming it 😅

Honestly I thought it was a gimicky little thing at first designed to chew through branded detergents you can buy for the sprayer that cost 3x more than the normal stuff... but it actually gets the mix pretty spot on. I used a bottle and a half for the whole path which I think is very reasonable, about 100sqm per bottle.

Great video James. I had a Karcher a life time ago and when it died, I replaced it with a Gerni. That one has been going for years with no trouble at all. It is a wizz at getting grease and muck off stuff, even accumulated mud and sand off earthmoving equipement. I was impressed with the patio clean head, don't have one of them, but it seemed to clean up big areas in no time at all. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers Bob. As long as it's a flat area and not too heavily stained the patio head is great. Loses a little power but you can always spot clean with the lance.

Can't speak for the longevity yet but they were good value vs the equivalent Karchers. This sits between a K3 and K4. I probably would have gone bigger, but I like the fact I can run this off the EcoFlow which tops out at 1800W.

Great Video James. I have the K7 Karcher, which has the same floor cleaner attachment. I found it didnt clean as well as the lance, but, was considerably easier to use. I did a big deep clean with the lance, and then more frequent cleans with the floor cleaner attachment so the works easier... One thing worth getting, is a lance extension, as it allows you to keep your back straight ... that little hunch forward kills me later in the day...

YES! I wondered if there was such a thing. Im 6 foot in the old money and the lance is _just_ that annoyly bit too short forcing the hunch which aint very comfy. I'm ording one right now....

I have the Karcher K3 (it a few years old now maybe 4) and it has not missed a beat for the last few years... :-) it came with the attachments like the Gerni but I don't use them... I never heard of Gerni before seems to do the job ;-) Though I do see the them on the NZ Bunnings website (since I looked for it lol)
@FixitFingers
@FixitFingers Жыл бұрын
Yeah I think they are almost a Bunnings exclusive brand. An Australian company since bought out by bigget fish I believe so NZ is possibly the only overseas country they can be found in. PSI for PSI a little cheaper than the Karchers. My K2 was over 10 years old and I flogged that thing well beyond its recommended run times a lot. Let's see how this one holds up.

I was thinking about a Gerni 7000 or 7300 but noticed the 5000 has slightly higher flow despite a lower power motor, the psi is lower but I think that's more about the attachments so I'm not sure if it's worth paying extra despite it seeming better quality.
@FixitFingers
@FixitFingers 11 ай бұрын
I've not tried the higher ones, this is the step up for me. With higher PSI, you can probably get away with less flow so it makes sense in a way. More power generally means fewer passes and therefore less run time per job. I think the 5000 is a happy middle ground. The bigger ones may be a touch faster but for the size I jobs I do, this one suits me fine.

Mate it's a fair call really. 😅 The education displays were kinda woodwork, but I've not had a 'project video' in a long time 😋 The last actual _thing_ made completely of wood was the spokeshave till back in April, but I intend to fix that over the next few months with my sponsor commitments done and more time in the shed. Sadly the handyman jobs pay a lot more than the KZbin videos, and I've been getting a lot of them chewing up my free time lately. Worry not! Next up should be possibly the most woodworky thing I've ever made... I'm talking hand planes, carving, epoxy, power tools, the works. Stick with me 🤣😁

I’ve been filming weddings for over 13 years now, the hardest thing to expose is a white dress next to a black suit. White reflects light (making it look over exposed) , whereas black absorbs light (making it look very dark and saturated/loose detail)… fine line getting it right. Also, big thanks for that awesome comparison mate, I’m debating wether to get a Kärcher, gerni, Bosch or Krenzel. Or building one from scratch lol… still debating as have not researched enough.

Cheers Lukas, I was very happy with the baby Karcher, flogged it for a decade. So far so good with the Gerni. Look at flow rates, not just PSI, those patio heads need the flow, not just the pressure 👍
@lukaszbebnowski7633

@@FixitFingers Thank you for getting back and the heads up about the flow rate. I read this somewhere too, that water flow rate plays a vital key and one should not just look at the PSI output. I've been doing so much research and from what I can see is that all pressure washers will eventually break. Just depends how soon or how often lol. From your Gerni 7300 review I can see that the patio cleaner actually does work hard and gets the dirt off. Unlike a K5 I used with a patio cleaner which seemed very un effective and I ended up using the Turbo Nozzle (with ball bearing). I don't own the K5, it was borrowed from a friend. I currently have a Mechpro 2200psi pressure washer (I bought it only because it was an emergency and this washer was I think around $90-$120 on sale). But it's time to upgrade as Mechpro washers do not have good spare parts support. The Turbo Nozzle is packing up and I can not find a replacement at any Repco. The actual pressure washer itself is actually going strong and I have had it for around 3-4 years. Used it hard on paving all around and out the front of the house, car cleaning, window cleaning, gutter cleaning etc. Hence I can not complain too much about the pump as it's going strong. The pressure of the unit is enough if using the Turbo Nozzzle, using the standard lance is much slower and perfect for car cleaning as is more gentle. Thank you again for such a great video and all other videos you make and share.
