So you don’t even have to solder if you’re replacing the screen off a good existing model.. right? Cuz it will also have the ribbon on it.. someone clarify.. is it just the replacement lcd that won’t have the ribbon stuff that needs to be solderer?

@@FixItPlanet1 is it possible to replcae the glass/digitizer only? Or do you have to replace the lcd & glass together?
@FixItPlanet1
@FixItPlanet1 4 жыл бұрын
@@dawsondemontiney1247 Short answer No... Long answer yes It is possible but not practical. I would not bother to do that, just replace the whole assembly. It's a waste of time and a lot more work.

My friend, it was a very helpful video. I appreciate your effort to explain in detail the procedures. I suggest/recommend a flexible camera holder. That in my opinion well be the last divider between a good video and the best video.

why was the Microsoldering required? Did you break anything? The display itself is connected only with flex cables !
@TheAmazingAhmed
@TheAmazingAhmed 6 жыл бұрын
Hello dear sir and thanks for this remarkable video. Why do we have to take the flex cables along with the pcb ic board and resolder it while we can just take the home button? Does the LCD display not come with the flex cables and pcb ic board that you removed and soldered? Or are the cables and the PCB IC board linked to the motherboard and must be used because they are proper To the motherboard just like the fingerprints kind of thing? (I mean just like Each Touch ID corresponds to It’s motherboard, and can only be used with that unique one.) Hope that makes sense thanks in advance!
@FixItPlanet1
@FixItPlanet1 6 жыл бұрын
That is just the way they are sold. I don't think they are paired with the motherboard but I could be wrong I haven't actually researched. If they are it would be even worse if it was damaged your tablet would be rendered useless.

Fix It Planet appreciate the reply sir, Yeah well apple likes to do these kind of things making it harder for us(technicians) to repair their stuff and force us to go to the nearest apple care center.. I have found some digitizers on ebay tho that come with the whole thing..

John, can I ask the type of soldering equipment you used? Flux, torch, etc? That’s the only place I’m hung up. I wish there could be some plug and play option for that part of the process. Thank you

Hakko FM-202 soldering station with a T-15 tip or whatever you prefer, Hakko FR-802 Hot air station with whatever nozzle you prefer. There are higher quality brands but that's what I could afford. Oh and MG Chemicals No Clean Flux Paste but whatever you prefer is fine too.

Hello followed each step, I'm facing a problem where the Touch ID works to open the iPad purchase things etc. But the home button is unresponsive? When I click it in dose not exit the app. So using aggressive touch. Just wondered if you have had any problems like that before? If there's a fix for it? Can't find anything related to the problem online. Thank you :)

Hi, i just change the screen few days ago and,it was that one with board so was a bit easier.Today i realized the glass for front cam was dirty and i was stupid enough to take of the screen and clean it.Now the touch screen and home button don`t work anymore :(( Did work a little bit and stopped ,and again the same few times but now doesn`t work at all the touch and home button.I did remake all the joints on the connector but no luck.Please give me an advise if you have any idea.Thank you

It's difficult so say exactly. It is possible taking the screen off damaged something in the process. It is also possible the controller board failed. Try connecting the home button on the original screen and test. (Hopefully you still have that screen fully intact). Always be sure you have disconnected the battery before connecting or disconnecting anything. If the home button is not damaged and is working with the original screen then there is probably something wrong with the controller board on the replacement screen. let me know if this helps and good luck!

Hi I have an iPad Pro 12.9 motherboard (working) without a home button (Touch ID)which I’m going to use to change a motherboard of a non working iPad Pro 12.9. Can I reuse the home button from the damaged one on the working one?? I know the Touch ID won’t work but will it function just as a home button?? And will I get any problems with errors when restoring?? Many thanks jay
@FixItPlanet1
@FixItPlanet1 6 жыл бұрын
Yes you can replace the home button and it will work without the security feature. However it is possible that iOS 11 may be fussy about the change and cause a slow boot. It may produce a pop up message at start up saying it can't initialize the security feature. A damaged home button can do the same thing as well. Give it a try. ;)
